Default annoying rattle in door panel

I've taken off my front door panels several times to upgrade the speakers, tint the front windows, etc... Over time it's developed an annoying rattle in the drivers side door panel over rough roads, or when the stereo is on with some strong bass. I can stop the rattle by pushing the door pocket with my hand. I have a feeling those round clips that slide into the door panel and pop into the door frame are too loose now that I've removed and replaced the door panel a few times. Do they sell just that part? Also in each hole the clip goes into was what appeared to be a paper thin black washer which seems like they don't really do anything. Well some of those fell off when I was putting the panel back on, don't know if that would cause a rattle.

Yes, they sell those clips. I lost a few when I was working on my truck and called Carson Toyota and they sent them out the same day. They were pretty cheap if I remember correctly. I think there are 2 types so be sure to ask for the right ones. And they did come with the little washers to. I think those washers might be what is causing your panel to rattle, since the clips are made of hard plastic. You could just get some similar washers at Home Depot to see if that works.

Or you could try getting some Dynamat type material, (sticky, sound/vibration-absorbing material) and cut little squares and shim the clips. Thats what i did. I also put some silicone on some of the clips to hold them into their retainer on the door panel. They kept falling out. In fact, like a month after i bought my truck about 4 in my drivers side door panel fell out and were rattling around inside the door. I fixed that though. Hope it turns out well for ya.

Thanks for the tips guys, I'll try using some foam weather stripping around the clips. It's amazing how such a minor sound can be so irritating!

Same problem I had I found in my case its the wires going through the plastic vapor barrier . So I removed it and installed dynamate. I have a great way of removing the o.e. plastic. I take a fresh can of air turn it upside down and freeze the tar and quikly pull it and it comes right off. good luck.
