This is a discussion thread titled "Wheel to Wheel Nerf (Step) Bars for Tundra?", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Is anyone making a wheel-to-wheel Nerf bar for Tundras? I want some for my Reg Cab, so I can have a step to hop into the bed, instead of jumping up on the tire. Im not looking to do some custom drilling or brackets, bars that use existing holes would be best.
On a side note, if there are no wheel-to wheel nerf bars, will Tundra Access Cab nerf bars work on a reg cab without drilling or custom brackets? All tundras have the same frame dont they?
I want to put on the longest ones I can get without doing custom stuff that Im not up to. The no-drill option is for me.
A Toy dealer and a truck aftermarket dealer both told me that the bars for the Access Cab would "NOT" fit my Reg Cab - Apparently the frames are not the same. I also would like to have the second step pad for access to the bed area [or in my case to my storage box]. The extended bars would also provide more "defense" from opening doors when parked next to other vehicles!!
If you find a way to use the Access Bars or another solution, please post!!! Thanks.

that sounds like fud to me...i remember when i was buying my truck and looking at pamphlets, they only show one, yep one, frame for the tundra, so the extended step bars i think from waag should do the trick. there's surely a difference in mount points for the cab and bed, but i really doubt the frame itself is different. if you buy bars that go between the cab/bed to frame mounts, then no they will not work.
otherwise, i know you said no custom stuff, but in reality a 4x4 shop could fab up a simple nerf & step bar without too much trouble, since it's easier than a slider bar, and they could do the bolting for you, using existing holes...custom fab is handy like that.
Well, I've emailed Waag a few days ago about Wheel-2-Wheel nerfs for Tundras. I not gotten a reply. I tried to ask them will they fit on a regcab tundra. I hate when I email and no one replies.
