This is a discussion thread titled "help find a bug deflector", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I need help finding a bug or hood deflector. The one I want has a snug look and the bottom goes halfway down between the grill and headlights. It doesn't look like most deflectors that go strait across the front, it looks more like fangs with the bottom going halfdown between the grill and headlights and the top goes strait across. I cant find who makes the deflector, and have a hell of a time describing it to salespeople. I have seen it, love the way it looks, but can't find it. If anyone can help find the maker I would really appreciate it.
It's called a Focus Form Fit , I got mine from my Toyota dealer ship about $79.00. Do a search on TS there are many threads on it. & several leads where to get it. Mine goes thru a Mobile Touchless car wash W/ dryer with no problems about 50 times so far..
It is available from Steve Ganz at Carson Toyota. His email is gonzo4u@earthlink.net
You can look at My Photos to confirm this is the one you are wanting and here is a link from Steve with his price on it. It is the 21st item down on the list.

I have an OEM Bug deflector for my '03. I look into the other ones, but found the OEM to look the best.

... While we're on the subject, can someone tell me about mounting the factory hood protector? Will I need to drill holes all the way through my hood?
Thanks for any help
No, not through the hood. You will need to drill through some of the formed support sheet metal under the front of the hood.
Mounted the OEM hood protector on my '03. Two 3/8" holes drilled in the support material in the hood near where the rubber bumpers land (on the underside of the front of the hood) on both sides. No worries. I used a Q-tip and a litle 3M rust preventative paint on the drilled holes after drilling and before installing the rubber compression-nut fitting.
When I read the directions I was a little skittish but after looking where I was to drill, I smoothed out. Use a good bit, a smaller one first, then the 3/8." Follow the directions to a 'T' and you'll like the fit. I waxed the front of the hood several times before I installed the piece. I won't feel so guilty about it now when I can't quite get to the hard-to-reach places.
