Default Silence of the Tundra

Well, the Brown Bread and foam have been applied on the rear doors and the rear of the cab. I can crank that Pioneer till the windows blur and the sound is clear. I can't comment on the outside noise level yet, haven't tried it. I will tackle the front doors tomorrow. The headliner may be a ways off depending on my free time.

Wow you did a good job. Your truck is probably quiet as hell. It must have been a labor of love to sit there and cut and glue all those little square pieces in too.

Looks good. I'll bet it is a lot quieter. Just wait until you do the floor of the cab and the roof. What kind of foam was that? How much brown bread did you end up using out of your 70 sq ft sheet?

Nice job! What (if anything) did you do to muffle the sound that comes through the vents on the rear wall?

Actuall nothing so far. I don't want to block them off. I have BB on the lower part.

Anyone want to comment on what needs to be removed to pull the carpet up? It isn't gluded anywhere is it?

Pull all of your seats out. Pull your center console out (if you have one). Pull out the plastic covers that screw down into the door sills. You might need to take the stock kick panels out to free the carpet from under them. I can't think if there is anything else. It was pretty straightforward when I did it.

Great job!!! You will love the difference. And thermal benefits are great too. I can melt snow and ice off my windows in less than 10 minutes in the middle of winter. Works in reverse in the summer too.

So how many of your 70 sq ft did you end up using to do the rear wall and doors?

I don't know if it worked very well or not, but i put Dynamat Xtreme on the back wall, then i bought some high density foam at the fabric store, and stuck it behind the rear seat. The vents still work, but it seems logical to think that it would muffle the noise entering through the vents. I put one big piece all across the back. It was a female dog trying to get the back seat back on though. Had to push really hard to make the bolts fit.
