aftr installing new grill I have noticed 'dimples' around grill. maybe from tightening too much to keep my bug deflector in place.can these dimples be corrected? thanks

Some people have experience dimples in their grilles.

If you have a bug shield like the one I do, (Check My Photos) you should had some washers between the grille and shield I believe.

I have mine mounted VERY securely and I don't have any dimples. However, I have the original TRD Style grille which is much beefier than the newer styles. Does yours use t-bolts? If so, it is the newer lighter style. The original ones use studs and weigh literally 2-3 times as much as the newer ones.

The T-bolts are the "threaded" parts on the grille itself that hold it to the hood. Some grille have T-bolts that "slide" into the grille, other grilles have studs that screw into the grille.

I am guessing you have the form fit bug shield like mine right? I don't go through automatic car washes just for that reason, I would recommend you don't either.

Heating the grille up won't do anything, but rather taking it off and putting additional washers behind it. I also used double face tape on my bug shield instead of the foam that is supplied. The tape keeps it in place and also allows the grille to be much looser which prevents the dimples.
