The 2003 fogs are different then earlier models. 2003 are oval, while the earlier are rectangle. Also, the switching is different.
When I first got my 03 Tundra, it had two black, empty eye ball sockets in the front bumper. Toyota said fogs are a factory install only and would not do the install and further more "Toyota does not recommend modifications". They even "wrote me up" for thinking about it.
Thanks to all the help I got from members of TS, I installed OEM Fogs lights, 2003 fog relay (part#90987-02016) and a 2002 fog light switch (part#84160-0C010) in my 2003 Tundra. Installing the fog lights was my first reason to join the club. The small fee for club membership is worth it for access to all the forums information.
The lights and relay are very easy to install. The switch is where the work is. I used a 2002 switch because the 2003 switch installs in the light stalk and I did not want to take my steering wheel apart. You will have to figure out how to take the left hand kick panels apart. Do a search for fog lights and you will find alot of very detailed information.
I don't remember the details, but I did write it up when I did it. So here's my notes:
Here's how I wired the 2002 fog switch in my 2003:
The 2002 fog switch has 5 pins on it. I used 4 pins. Hold the switch in your hand, with the small double pins on the upper left. Hot wire goes to both of the small double pins. I ran a wire from the green wire from the dimmer and attached a single female connector to fit over both of them. The green wire from the dimmer is a good choice because you can have fog lights on with parking, high or low beams, but not with lights off. Thanks to MMitsock for that.
Below the small double pins, attach a ground wire to the small single pin. I ran a ground wire from the White-Black wire from the dimmer. This will illuminate the switch logo with dash lights - but it will not dim.
To the right of the small double pins, is a single pin to which I attached the wire from the fog relay. The wire which runs to the fog relay is found in the wire harness, running to the steering wheel. It is Green-Red. There are two Green-Red wires in my harness so I tested both for continuity with the fog relay socket (small left hand pin is the one to test in the fog relay socket - found in the fuse box in the engine compartment).
The switch fits very nicely in left most hole to the left of the steering column.
Very helpful for all this is the fog light wire diagram I found in one of the club member forums and all the help from other members who installed fog lights and posted the info. Good luck.
I will be ordering the fog lights soon from Carson Toyota. SteveG has a Fog Light Kit consisting of fog lights, relay, and rocker switch. I do not know whether this 'rocker switch' is the 03 headlight and turn signal switch or the 02 fog light switch. If it does happen to be the the 03 turn signal switch i may opt out and try to get them individually.
hey, jibby where do i locate the: Green wire from the dimmer White-Black wire from the dimmer Green-Red wire from the wire harness
sorry for being so uninformative
i would pay for the club membership fee, because i know that it would be well-worth it but i have no credit card. only if they could accept money order?

Consider that your wiring may be different than mine.
You will need a volt meter and continuity meter to verify the wires. You also could use the wiring diagram.
You need to pull the left kick panel apart, very carefully. All the wiring is behind the left dash/kick panel, and wiring harness going up the steering wheel. The dimmer is that round black knob that you use to dim the panel lights at night.

Bummer. The club information is very valuable. Won't TS take checks?
I tried removing the kick panel this morning but had trouble on a corner area and was afraid I was going to break something. But i'll try it again tomorrow... maybe i'll have more confidence..
so when i do find the wires, am i going to have to split the wires in order to connect them to the 5-pin switch?

02 fog light switch. If it does happen to be the the 03 turn signal switch i may opt out and try to get them individually.
If it includes the entire turn signal post (would have to), then it is not hard to get to it.
Turn the wheel to the right, remove one screw. Turn the wheel to the left, remove the other. Remove the two screws on the bottom and pop the lower cover right off.
Dealer techs have to be able to work on this stuff, and time is money... nothing is buried so deeply that you can't get to it in a couple of minutes, you just need to know how.

Rlockyer seems to know how to install the 2003 switch stalk - which may be prefered to my installation of a 2002 switch - though I am happy with it. I suspect the wires for the 2003 switch may be in the wheel harness somewhere - not sure though.
Do a search on this web site and if I remember, somewhere is instructions on how to remove the panels. Yes, be very carefull or you will break the tabs off. I took off the door sill, then the left side panel, then the kick panel (remove screws), then removed the area that holds the switches.
I tapped into the wires by stripping away a liitle insulation, then wrapping the new wire and soldering, then wrapping with tape.
Have you searched for "fog lights"? Lots of information here ...

Nothing wrong with the '02 method, if you have room (if you haven't used the holes for something else already). I was just suggesting that IF the kit being purchased came with the stalk, there's no reason not to use it instead of spending the extra $30 for the '02 switch.
I'm 90% certain that the harness is already in the truck (certainly in the steering column).

Well, I do prefer the 02 switch over the 03 signal switch because i still have 2 open slots left near my dimmer. But if the harness would happen to be in the steering column, which would make it much easier to install the turn signal switch rather than the 02 switch, i may just go for the 03 signal switch. The 03 signal switch would be better knowing that in case toyota sees that i had an 02 switch installed into a 03 they would know that i did some sort of modifying. But my only hesitation is whether the 03 signal switch would be hard to work with rather than the 02 switch; the 02 switch seems fine for me to install...
Don't worry i have searched 'Fog Lights' on this board, but i will continue searching for more suggestions... thanks guys!
I just leave mine on all the time
Seriously, operating it is as easy as rotating the regular headlight switch (it's a ring just inboard of the headlight switch).
I think the '03 version is easier to tell if the lights are on or off. I put a warning/construction beacon on my toolbox and switch it from an '02 foglight switch. I'm always leaving the thing turned on because it's not obvious when the switch is depressed.

nice suggestion , but the only thing that concerns me is the difficulty installing it with the 03 switch. I already have an idea of how it will be for the 02 switch because of jibbys explanation. I wonder when i order it, if it will come with instructions... i hope so. Although i am sort of leaning towards the 02 switch since the panel near my dimmer is looking quite naked..
I called Carson Toyota regarding the fog lights for my 04 double cab. They told me that the 04s didn’t come with the wiring that the previous models came with. Take a look at a previous thread. Factory Fog Lights
