Question Leather seats with childseats?

I'm looking into getting the new DC, my wife really wants the leather seats, but i'm weary since i have to have 2 childseats in the backseats for the next several years. I've never had a vehicle with leather and i assume that childseats can stretch the leather. Does anyone have any experience with childseats and leather who can give me some insight?

i'd think that children and leather, in general, don't mix...regardless whether leather will stretch or not. it would certainly work tho if you put a seat cover back there, and a cover on the back of the front seats...dunno bout the stretch tho, i have cloth (didnt want to get leather and mess it up )

We have leather in our windstar and I wouldn't have it any other way with children. The leather is much easier to clean for spills. We have a car seat in one of the rear quad seats. I just put a towel on the seat under the car seat. We have had it a year and I have not noticed any ill effects to the leather. We're getting ready to turn the car seat around to be forward facing.

yeah, no problems here with car seats and leather. like jeff said, when you have kids i think it's best to have leather. clean up is so much easier.

i also put a towel under the car seat(s) and i strap them down pretty tight and haven't had any problems. my buddy just found mats for his MDX w/ leather seats that fit perfectly under his kids car seats. so i'll have to find out the brand and i'll post.

I have leather with one child seat and I have had no problems, I have a towel underneath the seat. I also appreciate the ease with which spills are cleaned on the leather. IMHO I think kids and leather mix well.

I have leather as well in the van, wouldn't have in any other way. Stated before, makes spills easy to clean up. I also put a towel between the seat and car seat and crank them down. When you take the seats out it will take a few weeks for the leather seats to recover and not show the car seat imprint.

Default Leather and Kids Mix Well!!!

We have leather seats in our Lexus GS400, Honda Odyssey, and now in our '04 D-Cab SR5. I had to pay the dealership extra to get them to subcontract out and install leather seats, but it was worth it. We have two car seats for a 3 year old and an 8 month old, I pull the seats out occasionally, wipe the seats down with a wet cloth, presto! Ready to go.

we have leather in our sequoia and have had car seats in it from day one. Check out babies R us for the seat cover that goes under the car seat and has pockets on the front. Keeps the kids stuff close.

Got a baby seat in both the Sequoia and Avalon (both with Leather). Cleans up easy. Especially like the LATCH hooks in the Sequoia. Wish they would have had them 8 years ago for our first child.

get the leather it is the best for easy clean-up, in my wifes 4runner we fold a towel in half and place it under the childseat. we went to target and matched a towel to her interior color its barely noticable. we have a 3 yr old boy and the leather was worth the price.

i also used the towel for quite some time.... but noticed with as tight as i pull the seat down... it does cause an indentation in the seats. i decided to cut a piece of mdf (like used for sub boxes) and router the sides with a round over. i then wrap it with a towel... and put under the seat. it works great... and no more indentation.

i think leather and kids is a lot like having a dog to help clean up all the stuff kids drop
