Angry Rear seat armrest....

I can't get that thing off for the life of me!! I removed the bolt on the passenger side, but I can't see how its attached on the driver side. And how that peice of upholstery is attached. Can someone give me some assistance on how to get it off? Please don't tell me you have to remove the whole upper rear seat! Thanks

The upholstery on the arm rest is secured by a thin zipper at one of the long ends of it. For the seat back there are two long plastic pieces all the way across the back bottom that interlock via 'V' channel on the edge of each piece. That's the best I can describe it. Toyota uses this interlock channel system on most of the seat covers for the tundra.

Now that I can get that off, Does anyone know how to detach the whole armrest from the truck?? I need it out of there completely, I know that I will be left with a black bracket behind it, but I can work around that, I just need the armrest part off, like I said I found the bolt holding it on the passenger side, but cant find how it is attached to the bracket on the driver side.

What the heck, I pulled the entire back seat out and here's what I found: The center armrest assembly is attached to the seatback by two 12mm nuts. Remove them and the armrest assembly pops right out. You can't really remove the armrest simply by removing the pivot bolts on which it rotates because there is a piece of armrest upholstery that is secured by the 12mm nuts--in short, ya gotta remove the whole seat to remove the armrest.

It's been a while since I did mine, I believe I slipped off the plastic covers that cover the retaining brackets on either side of the armrest/cupholder thingy. Under there there are bolts on either side. I did this to accomodate a bandpass box which squeezes perfectly between the reamining brackets and holds it nice and snug. I like this because I can change the configuration of my rear seat with the box, armrest, both---depending on how many passengers I have.

Sorry, I didn't see your post sooner---hope this helps.
