Question What are the Best Choices for a Cross Bed Truck Box...?

Hi Guys,

Long time no post. I have a 4WD Tacoma Double Cab. I want to select a Cross Bed Truck Box with quality in line with what I have experienced in my Tacoma...A tall order I know.

I specifically want a low profile model. one that extends above the rails but not more than is necessary. Also Black powder coat is the color I am considering but I have some reservations because I live in Georgia and I am concerned that black might be a problem with the heat that we have down here.

I have heard that black isn't a problem in terms of heat, but I would appreciate some feedback on that issue as well as the what, where, why, and how (much) on the choices that you guys know of.

Thanks,

Kev

I just looked at a black diamond plate one at Sears, it is a craftsman and looked really nice and the price was reasonable about $260 on sale....

Maybe the Craftsman is a different story with their reputation and all but...
after doing a little research, (a guy at the distribution level who couldn't sell me one anyway) I found that there only about three manufacturers who make a box of any real quality and I also need a special model for my truck. Here is a link to the site that is supposed to be one of those quality box builders.

Go with the UWS box- you shouldn't be disappointed- I think it will run appprox $250 for a black /low pro/OTR box.

The reason you need a "special"box is because of the shorter be of the double cab and teh location of the wheel wells.
