Default A rear window idea...

I'll go out on a whim with this one -

Has anyone else besides me had contemplations of converting the '03's (or 00-02 as well) rear window to an '04 sliding rear window? I haven't checked dimensions or clearance issues, but that would be the mod of all mods in my eyes. If it was possible, I'd do it.

This would be one really bad a$$ mod. Probably real expensive unless you can find totaled tundra in junk yard with intact rear window...

I thought of this a couple of months ago .. and apparently the 04 power rear window is bigger than the split windows
although I think they put them into the 03 Limited Stepsides ... which should fit
anyways good luck on that, I gave up because Im going to mount some amps behind the seat and there isnt room for the two of em

Thumbs up rear window

I have the power rear window slider in my 2000 Tundra. The '04 windows are a bit larger but if you have an 00-02 and maybe on '03 the power rear silder is a really nice mod.

I used the rear window switch from a Sequoia because of its same eliptical shape of the switch and in the dash (and this no additional holes to drill too!) so it looks all stock right from the factory. The motor is behind the back seat and the wiring runs along the door sill on the drivers side. I let the shop do the install for my window but a buddy of mine and I did the wiring ourselves. The window was around $425 and and another $125 to install it. After we were done, I had the glass limo tinted and it looks just like a factory window, you cant tell from the outside.

Now, when I want to open the back of my window, all I have to do is hit the switch either up or down to make the window open or close.

Hope this helps.

*sigh*, i was afraid the '04's rear window was going to be bigger. just imagine an '03 with what looks to be a rear window with no ability to slide down. just a single big window... and then I hit the switch... and it slides down. that would be so nice. but alas, i will have to think about some other wacky mod for my truck. has anyone thought about a hydraulic tilting bed yet?

Good job with the slider mod on your '00, fyr145
