Default Touch-up paint tips?

Ok guys. Need some tips on doing touch-up paint. Need to know stuff like recommend temp it should be when doing it, what is the amount of time for touch-up paint to cure before washing/waxing, is there a good method of getting it to "blend" instead of just blobbing it on? I had just bought some for my truck and the parts guy mentioned using a real small paint brush (as apposed to the one that comes in the touch-up paint bottle), and he said something about using a toothpick (???) as well for small chips/scratches. He said it isn't hard and that if I had ever painted model airplanes/cars, that I can do this just fine. Let me know what you folks think. Thanks

For some reason I couldn't open Glenns link. In my experience a pointed toothpick or a fine tipped brush from an artists supply works well. Its generally best to do it at a temperature up to 70 degrees. If its too hot the paint sets too quickly.
Its also critical to have the paint thin. This requires resealing the container and shaking between applications. Most paint thins with lacquer thinner. Have a rag handy with laquer thinner and if you screw up, simply wipe it away and try again. Several thin coats building up works well. Good Luck!!!

I wrote my reply before actually trying the link and found that the link does not work for me either? Thanks though Drhrsh for the tips. I will do that.
