Default Side Mounted Tool Box

Hello everyone. I need some opinions. I have been looking for a tool box that mounts one the side of the bed. I know there are those "pork chop" boxes, which are nice. TUNDRAWES has a box from Craftsman that is smaller and is mounted between the wheel well and the tailgate. The dilemma I am finding is that Tundra bed sides are 16.5'', and all the boxes I am finding are 18''. I don't want one that shows over the top of the rails.
Any help?

I did some serious searching for the right Tundra box. www.knaack.com has a grat selection of heavy-duty Weather Guard boxes. I installed a "Model: 304-3 PACK RAT® Drawer Unit " in the bed of my tundra between the wheel wells. It holds most of my tools and is completely weatherproof. It has easy acess via a drawer that pulls out when you lower the tailgate (which let's me stack things on top of the box without hindering access).

Craftsman sells a 4-drawer version of that box which is shorter. I bought one and then returned it. Too much money for such a small box.

I'm not sure what your storage needs are, but the SwingCase is fairly new. You can put one on each side if you wish.

Wish they would fit those swing cases to the 1st gen trucks. I would really like one, not going to take a fitment chance to see if they fit or almost fit.

Any way to make that fit on a 2005 Tundra? Looks kindof universal. How about the newer gen Taco version?

OK, it looks like a SwingCase is available for Tacomas '05 and up.

Not sure how to make it fit an '05 Tundra though.

I bought 2 of those swing cases for my 2001 and love em, although I wasn't that jacked about the price of them at almost $200 each at Truckcustomizers.com, but I wanted something to replace the butt ugly 40mm ammo cans I was using and they fit the bill. The case itself is probably universal, but the mount that attaches to the corner tailgate post is probably what's specific because of the height/width of the thing. It mounts up nicely to mine, very tight, then you have another latch mount you attach to the side of the bed, near the bottom that the front side of the case locked into. It's got a small pull lever that releases it. The design is extremely well thought out. I ordered the 2007-2008 model assuming I'd just fab up a mount for it, but it fit my 2001 perfectly.

Yea, pricey at $199. We have one on display at my shop. People look at it, look at it again, take a brochure, look at it again....and just can't decide if they need it or not.

Storage area is limited, but it's a storage solution if you have a solid piece tonneau cover.
