Default How do I remove map light panel?

Hi all, I was exploring the idea of putting my head unit where the upper panel that has the map lights and sunglass holder is. I don't know how to remove the panel without breaking it. I know there are 2 screws in under the sunglass holder, but I don't know how to properly pop out the light panels (if that is how you get the thing down). Has anybody here attempted this and know how to do it? Please help me out. Thanks in advance.

I think that link is to a page in the garage forums, which I don't have access to. Anybody else have any suggestions?

Default try this

I think once you remove the two screws under sunglass holder, the whole piece will slide forward. Clips hold it on the back. If this is not right, you should consider the $25 membership for all-access and be introduced to a whole new world of information. I'm glad I did!

I was a memebr, I did pay the $25 dollars, my membership ran out and I didn't renew it since I am a college student and don't really have the money too right now. If anybody else has any ideas or methods, please let me know, thanks.

Default Well?

That's cool, man. I went to a school in College Station, myself. Class of '87. So, did you try removing the two screws and sliding the whole piece forward? After you remove the screws, this allows you to pull the front down below the headliner, then you can slide entire piece forward since the back is held by clips. Don't pull down forcefully, and put most of the pressure on sliding forward. I've had mine off and this is the way to do it.

Gig 'Em.
