I have tried rhino several times and both faded. The dealer told me that I didn't put some kind of wax on it that they supposed to have given me and I finally just left, so my new truck will not have rhino on it. The colors were black and gray both on different trucks. I have a freind that has used speedyliner and has no problems. He said alot tougher than rhino and linex.

LINE-X with the optional Xtra product won't fade.

Keep in mind that Speedliner is applied with a brush or hopper gun, like Herculiner and the other do-it-yourself products. It's going to look a lot different than any high pressure bedliner (like LINE-X).

As far as the "tougher" issue, it's a HUGE HUGE debate.

123, did I catch you in here talking falsehoods about Speedlner again. Shame....shame. We all know Speedliner isn't applied to truck beds with a brush. And texture can be made rough or smooth (even like high pressure) just by adjusting atomizing air.

Be careful what you say, if your not 100%. It doesn't make it true if Line X tells you so.

And by the way, we still have over 3,000 dealers in the US, regardless of all the so called government policies.

Good luck this year!

Thank you for the information. However, I stand by my statement. Speedliner can be applied using a brush, roller, or hopper gun. If you look at Speedliner's website, under product, Speedliner 1000 (the common bedliner product), it states, and I quote "Can be brushed, rolled or sprayed." It is more common to apply Speedliner via a hopper gun with either a 4mm, 6mm, or 8mm tip (6mm being the most common). Also, the pressure typically used is 90-100 psi, which I would say, is low pressure as far as bedliner applications go.

In March of 2006, Rhino changed their atomizing wand used with their low pressure Tuff Stuff in order to achieve a nicer texture. I suppose it didn't work since they have ditched low pressure and now have high pressure products.

According to Frost & Sullivan, in 2007 (2008 report has not been released), LINE-X captured 38.7% of the bedliner revenues, Rhino came in second at 34.6%, and all the other bedliner brands combined make up the remaining 26.7%. Obviously, Speedliner is in that 26.7% somewhere.

Good luck this year to you also!

Same here. Threw my Stihl, gas can/bar oil and chaps in the back corner of the truck and jumped on the interstate to go cut wood at a buddies house. When I arrived it was in the exact location I put it in before leaving the house.

1. Not true. Qwikliner is a hybrid (polyurethane/polyurea), but obviously does not have much polyurea in it because Qwikliner's data sheet shows a 232.5 psi tear strength. Hybrids with more polyurea tend to have higher tear strengths. 100% polyurea is the strongest.
2. All bedliner brands say they are UV stable. But, only the aliphatic products are really UV proof. Qwikliner is not aliphatic.
3. Qwikliner is applied at low pressure using a cartridge gun. Mobile? Yes, but low pressure is not as desirable has a high pressure application.
4. Number 4 is a rather insignificant statement.
5. Yes, the guns cost about $400. But, again, it's a "second class" application process.

My first post here in a few years and my first post on this thread since about 5 years ago I guess. Just wanted to say that my rhino lining is now more than 6 years old and still going strong. No fading, no stains, no peeling, no nothing, just works.

Well, that's good to hear!

Obviously my opinion:
Rhino lost a LOT of market share in the last few years, most of it to LINE-X. So, Rhino has been in a "catch up" mode ever since Pierre Gagnon came along a few years ago. What hurt Rhino the most:
1. They waited too long to update their products.
2. Their old low pressure 100% polyurethane product (some dealers still spray it) is not really not that great of a product and it "turned off" many of their customers.
3. Lack of innovation. They tend to copy other brands now.

Xtreme and Ultimate Linings merged a few years ago. They offer several bedliner products. In my opinion, the only one I would recommend would be Xtreme HP.

Xtreme HP and LINE-X are both hybrids and applied with high pressure although it looks like HP might have higher polyurea content. That's good because it makes the bedliner very strong, but it's also bad because it makes the bedliner very hard which gives you less impact protection. Xtreme does not offer a product like LINE-X Xtra. Actually, no other brand does.

I just read all the pages of this thread and you guys are cracking me up. Pissing matches online are always a source of entertainment.

We all know 123gone has a LineX franchise and from reading all of his comments on various threads he really knows his stuff. As a fellow business owner its my job to know my products inside and out, and to also be knowledgeable about the competition. I commend him on continuing to put people in their place. (By the way, if you can't form complete coherent sentences guys, please don't post.)

I just picked up my 2009 Doublecab last night and one of the first things I want to do is get a bedliner put in. My first choice is LineX simply because of their quality, warranty, and options. The only thing holding me up at this point is that they are so darn expensive. I got quoted $470 for a basic black application and $645 to have the Xtra added (which I want). Two trucks ago I had a 2000 Tundra Extended cab that I had a liner put in, I believe it was a Superliner, and was pretty pleased with it although I don't think it was thick enough and seemed a bit rubbery at times.

Is the above price out of line with what most people are seeing? I don't even want to hear about Rhino liners unless they have really improved themselves since 2000. Had a good buddy that had one put in new that year and within a few months it was very chalky and dull. One of the most expensive and worst applications I had seen.

You're a Qwikliner dealer and you learned what you just stated from me on another forum. But, you didn't quit get it right, so pay attention.

Qwikliner is made by Ultimate Linings. Ultimate Linings merged with Xtreme liner a few years ago. A better choice is Xtreme HP over Qwikliner. HP would be the same company, better product, better application system.
