Interior & ExteriorDiscussions about the interior, and exterior of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "TRD Billet Oil Cap", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
The nice thing about this oil cap (aside from it being billet aluminum, good quality and cheaper than the "official" TRD oil cap) is that the metal TRD emblem is not attached. So, once you tighten the oil cap you can apply the emblem exactly where you want it...
Seee-ya!

I looked at it the other day and was wondering...til now
Frank.
Sure Frank! Yeah, I wasn't sure if it would fit the 4.7L so I e-mailed a few sellers and one got back to me saying it's a direct fit for all Toyota screw-type oil caps. It worked perfectly...
Oh, try to buy it from seller trendgear. He has an excellent rating and was very responsive. e.g. He shipped it the same day he received my payment. If he doesn't have any more, there are others for a few dollars more now that you know it will fit...
Seee-ya!

Ha! Yeah, I started to notice the same thing once I loosened and re-tightened the cap. It's probably because the rubber gasket is getting compressed? I wonder if you moved the gasket around if it would help?
Perhaps the best method is to put the cap on and fully tighten it. Then wait a few days and loosen/re-tighten, etc., then place the emblem on...

I have one like Tremo"s I will sell for $10 shipped. I just did not think it looked good next to Kevin's (Verndog) throttle cover & fuse cover. I just put my OEM oil cover back on.

Yeah...I wasn't getting bit by this problem again....I screwed mine 10 times to max tight before installing decal...lines up everytime now.
Also...I'm working on getting some of these decals from my China connection for a few billet wheel center caps. Shhhhh...dont tell anyone.
