Interior & ExteriorDiscussions about the interior, and exterior of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Leather Seat Cost", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I have a two-year old son and we debated getting leather seats when we got our 2004 Sequoia. We have leather couches at home and this was one of the best purchases we ever made, as they clean up very easily when the boy spills stuff on them, drools on them, and all of that.
We did not get the leather seats with the Sequoia-- ours came equipped with the velour-like fabric Toyota uses for fabric seats-- and I'm starting to wonder if I should go back and get leather seats.
Our dealer told me that they have a shop who can install leather seat covers in less than two days for around $1200. Supposedly the leather is better quality than Toyota factory leather.
I'm wondering if any of you have any experience with these aftermarket leather seat covers, and if so, how much you paid. Thanks in advance.

There's a company on e-bay that makes the leather covers for Tundra's and I believe Sequoia's (you'd have to double check) and the kit or package includes arm rests, door panel trim and head rests. I've seen some members comment that they were decent material (factory or better) so you may want to check it out. You could still use the shop the dealer uses to install them. Certainly won't hurt to look at them.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to syphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????

this is actually the best option to getting leather. The dealer is talking about classic soft trim. The comapny has very good quality leather and does OEM work for different manufacturers including Toyota, TRD, Ford, Etc. They actually strip the whole seat and put the new leathers on, not just a cover. Sometimes CST can be a PITA (some members have experienced problems with the company outlets around the country), others say its awesome and customer service was top notch. If you want leather this is the way to go.
I have the Classic Soft Trim in my '03 Sequoia. I have found it to be of equal, if not superior quality to my '01 with the factory leather. They did a fabulous job.
That's great to know. $1200 sounds reasonable to me. I checked out CST and the closest shop is in Rochester NY so about 2 hours away. They say to plan on 4 days for the install. How long did it take for your since I don't relish leaving my rig for 4 days and rentals are not cheap.

Took one day for mine. Place was in Houston (50 miles or so). Sent a flat bed to pick up the truck and then deliver it back to the dealer.
