Default Bedrug for Double Cab

After waiting several months, I finally received the Bedrug I had on order. Release of the new DC version was delayed to give Toyota a chance to inspect it and comment on fit and quality. Apparently Toyota is considering selling this product.

I installed it today and am really happy with it. Had I intended to do a lot of hauling of construction materials and the like, I would have considered getting a spray-on liner such as Line-X. However, I am more likely to only do occasional hauling, and it is more apt to be furniture than gravel or dirt. I also liked the idea of a soft liner that would protect the cargo and be more accommodating of my knees. The Bedrug is perfect for my needs.

I saw pictures of the Bedrug installed, and although it looked good in the pictures, I was a little skeptical of being able to replicate this on my truck. I am very impressed -- it fits like a glove, and molds itself to all of the undulations in the bed. So far this product has far exceeded my expectations, and I am happy to recommend it to others (I have no affiliation with Wise Industries). Here are some pictures of it installed on my truck:

I've got a bed rug too and for a covered bed it's great. The foam on the bottom has ridges and valleys to match the pattern of the floor in the truck exactly so that everything is perfectly flat and cushy to the knees.

I love mine too.

Default wet or dry

I agree these things look great, but what's the story on them if they get wet??

It's made of marine carpeting and will not mold or mildew. You can actually hose it off if it gets real dirty.

I throw my muddy mt. bike on it all the time and the dirt vacuums right up. They are great.

Only downside is that things will slide all around if not secured.

You can always velcro things down. That's what I do. Industrial velcro works great and it's like gluing things down but you can still move stuff around.

I had to put some velcro on my bike mount to kep it from sliding (It's just a 2x4 with 3 fork mounts). It fit perfectly in the bed until I added the bedrug and had to shave about 1/4" off. I ended up cutting off about 1/2" and then it started sliding. Now with the velcro, no sliding. The 2x4 also makes a good bed divider and keeps things near the tail gate.

Is there a reccomended place to order/buy the Bedrug here in the LA area? The reason Im asking is that Ive found a large variance in the price of shells. For instance, snugtop supersports from 1499 - 1850. Thanks.

Find an online reseller that ships for free, then it doesn't matter where you and they are located. I purchased mine from Surplus Equipment Exchange (www.surplusequipment.com) for $309 -- they were the cheapest at the time and were the only website that listed the 04 DC part number. I notice that RealTrucks.com has them listed now for $299, and they also offer free ground shipping, and since they are in Spokane, WA, you may feel more comfortable ordering from them (Surplus Equipment is in Tennessee).

Bedrug is a good product. I hear lots of good things about them. The only negatives I hear is that they tend to sag after a while and the velcro strips don't always stay glued on. Congrats!

When you receive the Bedrug and take it out of the shipping box, you will wonder how it ever fits as nicely as you see in photographs, but trust me, it does. The way mine was folded for shipping caused a slight crease in the left and right side panels above the wheel wells. This caused the Bedrug to stick out a little from the bed sides after installation where the crease was. I put some double back carpet tape along the crease and it pulled it down flat.

Also, the instructions I received with mine were not specific to the 04 double cab model. In particular, there were 39 2" Velcro hook pieces, and the instructions called for fewer than that. However, if you look where the Bedrug is marked on the back, you will see that you need more than the directions call for. Also, along the front you will notice that there are some places you will want to put some Velcro that is less than 2" wide, so I simply cut one of the pieces into two 1" pieces.
