Just got an email last night about the ARB Bull Bar. The first shipment of 11 bars is due to arrive in country on 4-28-02 and my order is supposed to get to my local shop on 5-3-02. No eta as of yet on any further shipments.
I already have plans hatched to mix it up some and get the bar tweaked they way I want it, so that will delay its install by 10-14 days, but it will be soooooo sweeeet!! I hope to unveil it by the 15th of May.
Anyone else one of the lucky??
Now, if only they aren't pulling my leg...........................

Questions, is the bumper painted, chrome? Does the tubular "brush guard" going around the top come off? Is the bumper as sturdy as the regular ARB bumpers? Do they make an ARB bumper for the Tundra? Thanks.
If you click on the ARB link in my first post you will see a photo. The body of the bumper is powder coated grey and the grill hoop is chrome. The hoop is bolted on and removable. The bar underwent extensive testing and is compatible with the airbag system. It is also capable to handle the load of a Warn 12,000lb winch.

How are you going to tweek the bar? How much did it cost?
Got it from 4wheel wholesalers for $840 (and free shipping!!) I was going to get it from performance, but they wanted to charge for shipping even though I was going to pick it up from their shop
What I plan on tweaking is dechroming the hoop. Also, if the plastic bump pads are easy enough to remove, I will get the bumper stripped and re-powder coated. The original powder will need to be baked off, so getting the plastic off is of paramount importance. The end result will be all black as opposed to the grey/chrome look. Can't wait!!!!!!!

Thats a good price!! I ordered mine back in Feb and I don't want to wait any longer for this thing. I bet the next shipment from down under wont be for another month or two.
I do eventually want to swap out to the poly rope to save some weight, but I will need to save up the $250 or so first.

I've looked into poly line and I really like it’s characteristics. It’s as strong or stronger than aircraft cable with the same diameter, a third of the weight of cable, will not snap back when it breaks or comes off and you don’t need to wear gloves to protect your little pinkies from the sharp strands of broken wire. There appears, however, to be a downside to its use with Warn winches. I called Warn Industries just to check if they had any concerns or recommendations on the use of the poly line. Warn advised they had not tested the use of the poly line on their winches and cautioned that there could be a serious problem in the use of the poly line. That problem could arise when you're powering-out as the automatic brake is engaged and will generate heat upward of 700 degrees Fahrenheit, which could effect the strength of the poly line at that instance or degrade it's strength over time. The reason for this high temperature is when the winch is in a powering out mode the automatic brake is in an engaged status generating heat. The brake, as you Warn users know, is located in the drum. Warn stated the cable greatly assists heat dissipation generated by the brake. I assumed that statement meant the cable acts as a heat sink in that case. With that assumption, I would think the poly would then act as an insulating force that could cause your Warn brake to fail or the line to melt - both bad news. This can come into play when lowering your vehicle, another vehicle or a camper down a sharp incline. It can also come into play if you like to power out your line as opposed to manually dragging it out. If you dis-engage the clutch and pull the line out you will not generate any heat via the brake, which also holds true when you power-in the line. In case I’m confusing some readers this might sum it all up. Your brake only generates heat when you power out your line/cable – anything else you do with the Warn winch will not generate heat via the break. I’ve still got the trusty standby - the 8074 Warn from my last truck and that particular Warn winch has a hollow drum and therefore is perfectly suited for poly line - only problem is that it can’t be installed in the ARB bumper (high profile) - might have to mount it in the bed for use in pulling a moose into the bed and holding it there until I get to a locker plant!
I'll have the bumper with 10K winch, the front locker and 456 gears in within the next two to three weeks! This summer is starting out on the right foot!!!!
Sure did. Mine probably won't be in until early next week. I have to guide a few buddies during the first week of the Minnesota fishing season (I've got the cabin) so I won't have everything up and running for 2 or 3 weeks yet.
I was talking with ARB to produce a "real" off-road bumper when I got word they would make what I call a bawl calf bar opposed to their term of Bull Bar. I placed an order several months ago as ARB advised there would be no other model available for some time to come. I just hope the bumper sticks far enought out at the corners to give enough protection to the front quarters when I lose control on slick surfaces and bang what ever is close!
I've got racerunner coilovers up front at 2.5" and National springs in the rear. The springs produce a 5.5 inch lift, which I found was too much so I arranged for a friend to help me take them off tonight and I'll send them back to get re-fitted to give me a 2 to 2.5" lift. The ride is nice with the Nationals but you do pay for that little extra class. (Like $550+shipping) I liked the departure angle with the 5.5"s but there were just too many problems to solve with that much lift. If you look at my pictures you'll see that the War Department has to stand on her tip toes to peek into the bed of the pickup.
Joe,
I'm a guide on the Cass Chain here in MN. Where is your cabin at? If you realy like to fish a lot you should check out fishingminnesota.com
I will also be adding the ARB lockers and bumper. If you wouldn't mind I'd like to come and check out your truck. Let me know what you think and good luck on opener!
