Does anyone know where to find the tube steps that attach to the body of your truck. This way if you get a body lift the steps rise up with the body and there is no akward gap. I've seen a few trucks on the sight with them and heard they may come directly from toyota dealers. Thanks

I got mine directly from the dealer. They are manufactured by GFX.

Hey Tarpon,
Are looking for the "tubes"... or... are you looking for the "steps"? The only "type" which I've seen that attach to the body, like you're talking about, are the steps.
Give me some "feed-back"... 'cause... I may have an answer for you...
thanks for all the replys. Checkout CBchief's pictures, he has them on his truck. They look to be the same as Rippers. Ripper how are they mounted to your truck?

Tarpon,
From what I can see (in the photos of CBchief's and Ripper's) it sure does look like their tubes are mounted to the frame. Especially CBchief's set-up. Looks like he has a suspension lift and this would (of course) raise the tube's height, with the tubes being mounted to the frame. In your case, however, I think you said you were considering a possible body lift...? That set-up (of course) won't bring the tubes up with the body.
Hopefully Ripper will respond to your last thread and let you know if his are mounted to the body or the frame.
I'll have to assume (from your last post) that you want the "tubes" and not the "steps". The reason I asked that question in my first response to your post was... I "know" the steps (which look like a slightly flattened regular tube) DO mount to the body.

In actuality, cbchief's tundra does have a body lift with a set of SAW coilovers. You can notice the gap at the rear in the pic. The dealer tube/nerf bars are the only aftermarket bars that will be lifted with a body lift. It is mounted right beneath the body of the truck. I know this for sure because I have them on my Tundra. These bars will definately cover the frame that is exposed by the body lift.

Mine are mounted to the body and not the frame. If I have a chance when I get home from work I wil snap a few pictures with the digital camera and post them.

Tarpon just a thought on body mounted vs. frame mounted. If you have any hits/bumps against the body mounted ones you can easily tweak the body or even bend it depending on the amount of impact. I understand about the gap you're talking about. I've got some nice Performance Products chrome SS frame mounted tubes and they work out well. I'm not rock crawling or dragging my frame across rocks so the fact that they're not welded doesn't come into play. Actually on my 03 a body lift would probably make them even better for climbing up into the truck. As it stands with no lift they're basically to prevent door dings, waxing the roof, and for my fiancee.
