This is a discussion thread titled "Arm Rest help in a 2000 Tundra", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
My dad has a 05 tundra and I have a 00 Tundra and I really like his arm rest in the front. Can I get this and is it easy to install? The only thing I think will be in the way is the 2 12 volt plug ins. Thanks for any help!!!

Are you talking about the armrest that folds down from the side of the captains chairs or the use of the center console as the armrest? You mentioned the 12 volt adapters so I assume you’re talking about the center console. Do a search on “center console” and you should find a lot of info on the parts needed to do the mod and also notes from members who have already done this. Hope this helps.

Hello,
Instead of changing the armrest and going through the expense why don't you just raise the existing center console/drinkholder box to the level of the armrest on the captain chairs. Upbolt the existing center console and build a little frame (i used the stuff they use to hang garage doors) and rebolt the center console to this frame. I am no mechanic and it took me about an hour and i had a raised center console that i enjoy.
