This is a discussion thread titled "How to turn TRD sticker into a Grill Badge?", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Do you think there would be anyway to make it so that you you do not see screw heads or screw holes?
Easy!
Saw sides off (alum. easy to hacksaw). Sand and polish sides. Then drill 2 shallow holes from back and tap. The plates are 1/4 thick so there is enough to hold a 1/4-20 thread.
I'll send you an extra plate for shipping cost if you Fubar the first one.
Ahhh heck....you want to buy them...I'll modify it for you...with tapped holes in back.
Hello Fellow Orange Countian! It will be cool if you can make these as I can just pick it up from you!
I couldnt find a picture of the badge thing you posted about in your profile.
ahh Id love to make these .. only thing holding me back is the copyright issues with TRD, unless I changed the logo enough to sell it for my self ... untill then its free! loljk only free if I get a donation

Im working on a replacement grill badge that will have different logos in it, TRD being one ... check out my gallery
Its going to be made out of solid alluminum.
Are you really doing this?? i would love to get one, that matches the same shape as my sig logo. i have that trd badge on the rear quarter pannel of my truck. and one on the grille would just finish it off! Even one without the trd on it would work fine, just the devil toyota let me know!!

I got the TRD grill with no sticker. I thought it was ugly so i took the sticker off. The grills r very nice but poorly made. Ive had mine for a year now and it started to rust. Im getting ready to have it powder coated. ANYWAYS i just ran across this thread and was wondering if anyone would be willing to trade inserts.TRD for a MOLLY DESIGN. Of course i dont expect a nicely shined insert for a starting to rust one. Anyways if u happen to have an insert in similar condition and u wanna trade let me know...

that trd with the toyota devil is cool lookin but I dont know if it will work as a badge for the grill cause there would be no backing on it
Im still working on the trd one, I have to redesign it in autocad or some other program and make it 3D for the CnC machine to cut it ... that and the guy I know is kinda busy building tools for his business, but he said soon

How is the current one mounted? i would just assume some 3m tape?!
In any case, if you do get it ready let me know, i really really would like one
The current [stock] one is clipped in, easy to remove .... on the TRD badge I was planning on putting some black metal or something behind it so you wont see the 3D black plastic from the original ... still working on the actual design too
