Interior & ExteriorDiscussions about the interior, and exterior of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Pre-Cut Hole In Body Panel", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Does anyone know what the precut hole in the center of the rear body panel underneath the tailgate is for? Is it trailer wire related?
Spare tire release access , raising and lowering.

Also, with the gate up you'll see a dimple in the center directly above the license plate area -- this is right where the hole is, and as mentioned above, that hole is where you raise/lower the spare tire.
