Go to the main page where the title find service bulletins for your vehicle is under your screen name. If you've input your vehicle that'll lead you to all the TSB's for Tundra's. If it's not on that list it doesn't exist and would have to be covered under your warranty anyway. Matter of fact I don't recall seeing one like that under my Tundra either. If you're under warranty yet you've got it made. He!! you've been around longer than I have and you knew that already. DUH

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to syphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????

Mine broke about 3 monthes ago... went to the dealer and had to pay 30-something bucks to replace it. Money-hungry sons of bitches... I hate my dealership. I know the price would be the same at any dealership... but I just really hate my dealership.

Well, i got back from Toyota today. It was a very pleasant experience. They replaced my rear-window latch free of charge, under warrenty, no questions asked. It took them about an hour though. The actual work only took about 15-20 minutes, but "they were holding it because they were still counting time, so they can get paid" so said the service guy. They also washed my truck. I didn't mind waiting. I got to look at (and sit in) all the new toyotas.

Default Re: Where can I find the TSB for the Rear Window Latch?

Like many of you I had both my original latches replaced under warranty despite the fact that I rarely opened those windows, becase the cheap plastic link cracked, and the replacement links started cracking in the same place a year later.

I am very disappointed to learn that they haven't improved the parts, and that they only sell them as part of a very expensive latch assemble. Shame on Toyota.

Not about to spend the money for new ones, I got some small pieces of aluminum and made a pair of replacement ones that should never break. I used the broken ones as a guide and used a die grinder with a carbide bit to do the final shaping. They look and work just like the original ones, and only look different becase I left them bright aluminum instead of painting them black.

Final cost to me, about 1/2 hour of my time, and $0.50 cents worth of aluminum.
