Angry Rear slider latch broken

My dealer says I can't buy the latch I need to buy the entire window and latch for $ 364.54. That seems a little steep when the part that broke is probably at most a $30.00 item. Any thoughts?

I thought there was a TSB for that. You might want to check for it. I can say that i broke the access door window latches and got the 'upgraded' latches for ~$12/each if I remember correctly. They were definitely a TSB item but I had gone over the 36k so dealer didn't want to cover it.
In any case, call around to other dealers and see what they say. For sure buying a whole new window just for the latch is crazy.

The TSB was for the quarter window latches.

That is nuts, agreed. For that kind of money you could purchase a replacement with electric slider.

Default Broken Latch

rgreed,
How did your latch get broken? Is there something the rest of us need to watch out for?

Good luck on your junk yard hunt.

No, you can all rest assured there is no fatal flaw in the latch design waiting for you to discover. (Unless of course you consider the $364.00 repair price a flaw, I do). Basically I tried to get something in the truck through the back window and it hung up on the latch and broke it. Not the smartest thing I've done but hey I'm not accused of being smart too often.
