Step side truck box, regular bed!?

Ok i got a great deal at home depot today, a nice truck box for $80 was $260 normaly! However it is for a stepside bed, its only 5 feet wide. I tried to set it down in the bed, to try and get it to sit like a flush mounted one, however the wheel wells hit the front of it and it wont go all the way down. any one have any ideas on how i can mount this? someone suggested L brackets, but im not sure how or were to attach them to the side of the bed, I dont want to put a hole through the body! Oh and i do have a line-ex bedliner if that matters.

Why not a piece of 1/4" steel plate cut to size to extend the wings that go over the bed rail. Should be cheap from a welding shop. Bolt under the wings on the box. Could even add the lineX to this piece.
