Has anyone modified their stock taillight cluster on their Tundra stepside pickup?

nope. im not satisfied with the stock stepide tails either. its a shame there is no after market stuff for them too.

i was thinking of removing the reflector inside the taillight. and maybe modifying it to accept a G35 LED style light or the late model altimas or jag refractors.

ideas are brewing.

I would like to cover (paint, decal material?) the red reflector sections around the light pods so that the pods appear to be coming out of the body. Any thoughts?

none yet, i gotta go look at my truck to get an idea of what you are talking about. ill be sure to post pics of any sidestep related mods i do, especially to the rear taillights.

come to think of it, you need to add some pics of your stepside to TS.

I love my stepside as well, except the taillights. Im in the process of finding a replacement set so I can mess with them so I dont screw up my orinigals. Im thinking of smoking them lightly. I hope this will reduce the attention to them. I'll post pics when I get this done. WOW! I just looked at the date of this post, Oh well its a topic that needs to be addressed.
