I'm Looking For A High Quality Chrome Step Side For My 2003 Tundra Ac, I've Been Looking At Westin And Performance Products Brand, And Was Wondering If Anyone Has Had Any Problems With Rusting Or Anything Like That, Or If Anyone Knows Of A Better Step Side, Let Me Know, Thanks
Derek
Chrome does indeed look nice, but what about when it chips? You can then see the difference. Sure it won't rust, but you can still see a chip. Polished Stainless Steel doesn't chip and can always be buffed back out just like brand new.

I would have gone with the polished stainless but it tends to take on a slightly yellow color/tint over time. My chrome plated front bumper has yet to chip, even once. Over 2 1/2 years and counting...
Polished stainless or chrome over stainless - both good stuff.

I went with Luverne Stainless. The look nice and support my weight(230 lbs) and then some. I can rock the truck around the bars don't noticeably move. Did I mention they look nice.
The only thing I don't like is that it says LUVERNE on it. I HATE such product endorsements....

I don't believe there is a nerf bar available without the MFG name on them. Although I agree, which is why I debadge and made my own custom nerf bars for my Tundra.

HYBRID NERF BOARDS!?
Onki nerf boards...the look of a stainless steel tubular nerf bar with the functionality of a running board but better. These have an SS cap and a rubberized step which is a full 6.5" wide (compared with usual 4" running board or 3" nerf bar) and runs uninterrupted the entire length of the board....IMHO they look sweet! and I love em...so does my girl...makes getting in with a tigh skirt on a whole lot easier!
I have install pics in my gallery as well as final pics

Somewhat surprisingly, the OEM nerfs sold by Toyota dealers have zero badging.
They're chrome but after a year of dealing with highway rocks and sand here in the Rockies, I've yet to find any chipping of the chrome. These bars also have a full length step (not the two dinky ones on the aftermarket ones) and a center brace.
Yeah, they're a lot pricier (around $350 to $400 depending on where you buy) than the aftermarket bars but IMO, these are very best quality nerfs available for the Access Cabs. I've never once regretted paying a premium price for a premum product.

I went with the Bully Stainless Steel polished tube steps/nerf bars, and I love them. It was an easy install, the hard part was getting them balanced. They do have a Bully badging on them, which I don't mind with my Tundra door sill protectors. With the door(s) open togther they say Tundra BULLY. Nice subtle play on words, which I like.
I have to second the recommendation of the OEM Toyota nerf bars by GFX. Very well made with a wide secure full length step instead of two separate steps. Heavily chromed and a snap to install on the welded in nuts and bolts on already installed on the Tundrda frame.
Step bars were my first mod. I purchased, ICI Tube (chrome bars) from AZTrucks.com .(paid too much in my opinion 300.00 to the door-step) I self-installed, wasn't hard or anything, but I think I torqued too much and bars got a slight bend in them. Other than that I have taken them off once to clean them out. Its dusty up here in lubbock.
