Default Need help with front bumper mod...

I'm posting this here so in case someone knows of an existing aftermarket problem that can solve my problem.

Currently my front bumper looks like this...

    http://www.tundrasolutions.com/photo...8022Bumper.JPG

And the pattern for my Dallas Toyota Sport Grille looks like this...

    http://www.tundrasolutions.com/photo...LLEPATTERN.JPG

And this is the entire front end of the truck, just after installing the new grille...

    http://www.tundrasolutions.com/photo...Picture514.jpg

What I'd like to do is get a piece that matches the grille pattern to put into the lower valance area that has that "milk crate" type look currently. I'd love to have something that matches the grille, so it all flows together.

Also, on the bumper you will notice that "chrome" piece there. I've looked around but I'd love to know how difficult it is to remove. I'd like to take it off so I can make a duplicate piece (or have one made) that is painted to match the truck, or if the mounting holes aren't too bad maybe even remove it entirely. Any suggestions there?

that chrome piece on the bumper is painted on the limited models - call the junk yards and maybe you will get lucky- or just have yours painted.

I'm just about to order that same grill for my new Ltd. Wish I could keep my Toyota symbol somehow.

You could always remove the plastic Toyota logo overlay on the existing grill (small plastic piece), sand down the back flat and then remount it with strong adhesives to the front of the grill. I may do what rlockyer did with his ride and add a small TRD emblem to the lower left or lower right corner.

    Thanks for the tip.
I just ordered a new TRD catalog. I assume they have emblems in it.

The chrome strip on your bumper is just stuck on, it should come off with a heat gun and adhesive remover. I saw a guy at the dealership installing it on a limited, and it was just a peel and stick type set up

I'm a LINE-X dealer in Fort Worth. The chrome piece is on there with some tabs and double-sided tape. The tabs are very easy to disengage. The tape is not difficult to remove (with a knife) but you have to be careful not to bend the chrome piece. The tape can be replaced using 3M double-sided mounting tape, which has some thickness to it. When we color match things, we use Dupont's Nason paint. If you need help, let me know.

Check out the pics of the LINE-X'd bumper (door sills and bed) referred to in the first post. We did a good job!
