Unhappy Armrest sag? ('04 Ltd)

After a week, I'm wondering if I've run into the first bug in my new '04 AC Ltd
The driver's side armrest is now tilting forward about an inch more than it should. I don't know if I leaned on it too hard, or what, but it definitely looks out of whack now.

Has anyone else seen this kind of problem? I understand there's some sort of nut and clutch assembly at the arm pivot that needs to be adjusted or something. Can a person do this him/herself, or is it better left to the dealer? Isn't there some kind of stop on the arm to keep it from going too far past horizontal, and to help take the load of someone leaning on it?

It seems like some of the comments I've seen here about cheap seats have some basis in fact?

Thanks in advance,

Talking Armrest Mod

This is normal on Tundra's and Sequoia's. I don't know about other Toyota's. It is how it comes from the factory. There is an armrest mod in the garage section to fix it though.

Good luck.

I know a quick fix for this. I use my CD case that is almost as wide as the armrest to put under it. It raises it up about an inch, and solves the problem. If you have a wide CD case that holds 48 CDs when full, I'd suggest using it. Great quick fix.

MY TUNDRA: Desert Sand Mica, 2003 SR5 Toyota Tundra Access Cab, with (debadged) TRD Off-Road Package.

CURRENT ADD-ONS, BOLT-ONS, SLAP-INS & MODIFICATIONS:

EXTERNAL: Toyota of Dallas Sports Grille, Performance Products bed mat, PIAA silicon wiper blades, Sylvania Silverstar headlight bulbs, Bully stainless steel nerf bars, debadged of all labels & insignias externally, Stant 10509 locking gas cap/cover, bullet style valve stem covers, OEM Tow Package (130A alternator, transmission cooler, etc.), 2" blind spot mirrors (Wal-Mart parking lot aids), 12" stubbie antenna, color-keyed door edge trim, clear front corners.
INTERNAL: OEM dash cover, super white/blue xenon interior lights (look awesome at night), Wheelskins sand colored steering wheel cover, OBX sports pedals, map light mod, Tundra labeled door sill protectors.

And, a lot more to come!

All I have to do now is invest in the Redneck Retirement System*, then I can finish with all the modifications I want on my truck.

Really? Gee, I didn't pay attention when I picked up the truck, but I didn't think it did this when I got it. Kind of a bummer if it happens normally... You'd think Toyota would have done something about it by now...?

Gadallah,
That was the second fault I found with my truck (the first was the limited front-to-back seat adjustment, since fixed in 2005). If you adjust the angle of the seat you will notice that the arm rest will be perfectly horizontal when you lower the seat back 3 or 4 notches. Unfortunately for me, I like the seat back to be as vertical as possible. In that configuration, the arm rest is sloping down too much to be comfortable.

Did the armrest mod today. It's awesome and can't get any easier.

Could anyone point me to this armrest mod to fix the sag in the captain's chair armrest? I searched the forums but couldn't find it.
