While I am in love with my new tundra, I feel like it is missing something to set it apart from all the other white ones out there. Going from in your face blue to white has been a very big adjustment for me. I did a search, but there are ZERO threads on this. Has anybody added an aftermarket pinstripe to their tundra? Anybody have any pics? Anybody know of any websites to get them made?
my next door neighbor has added a pinstripe to his black tundra why i have no idea....actually it doesnt look to bad but it makes it look more like a chevy or ford imho.

Sometimes they come with pinstripes from the factory. IMO the factory ones look pretty bad. They are pretty booring. My brother's Tundra had them from the factory and the first thing he did was remove them. It was just a tan color vinyl sticker. It always seems to be on the black ones though.
What did you have in mind for a pin stripe? A custom pinstripe job would look pretty cool, as long as it was done right and done with the right color.

I just saw a tundra with a pinstripe, UGLY! It definitly has to be done right, i dont just want to slap one on there, im deflinlty looking at going the custom route. I want it to be very small, not some huge thing, but ive never seen one on a tundra that I liked (yet) so thats why im probing you guys for ideas...Not even sure what color would look good on white, black is out of the question, maybe something more subtle, like graphite or something...

I was thinking a blue might look sweet. Like a lighter blue metallic or a blue/grey metallic color. Perhaps even the color of your ranger.

My 2 year old Access Cab is white and just screams for a full-length stripe.
I'm thinking a very conservative and classy dark blue color. It would be very narrow and it would be a double parallel line tapered at both ends.
Now of course it will need to be in just the right spot. It shouldn't too close to trim pieces. Maybe follow the fender line. It is definitly a lay-a-test-piece-of-tape-and-stand-back-andlook-at-it job.
It needs to flow and the eye is best at determining the correct spot/.
NOW I was thinking I could use a pre-cut plastic stripe that can be bought at a parts store (in the interest of cost).
In my case I would need someone with a steady hand and a good eye. That would be my artsy-craftsy wife. I think we could do it!
For custom pinstriping, check out www.automotive-art.com - the artist is Todd Howe. He did the pinstriping on my Model A. He is located in Lakeside, so that's not too far from you. He came to my house and did mine.

George60---You said exactly what I've been thinking. I want something to help the lines of the truck but not jump out at you. On silversky metallic I was thinking of charcoal. Just don't know what line to follow on the front fenders. The one that goes high on the fender, door and bed or the one thats lower on the fender then finishes off about half way down the door. Haven't seen any Tundra's in my area to see what it would look like. I know the person I would like to do the work. Maybe he could give me some good ideals.

Are you still looking for pics?
I just had my 05 double cab pinstripe painted on, will get some pics this weekend.

Please post those pics---would really like to see what it looks like. Did you decide where to put them or did the painter do what he thought would look best?

Stripes just don't look right anymore. CLEAN is better with just suttle enhancements. Take a look at my pictures. I think adding just the gold did the trick, and based on all the comments I get I'd say others think so too.
