Question Paint Problems on a double cab Short Bed?

I know I have seen some pictures of the paint being jacked up on the rocker panels but they have all be on the double cab long beds. Does anyone know if the short beds still have the same problem?? It seems that the area that is getting hit the most is the area that doesnt exist on the short bed.

Long bed, short bed, it's all the same. I have an access cab short bed in black pearl sand and after 5 weeks the paint along the rocker panels and especially the lower front rear fender looks like it's being sandblasted off. There are some chips, but mostly the paint is just peeling and flaking off. Please email Toyota and tell them about this problem that seems to be affecting alot of trucks. The word is that Toyota will repaint the defective paint along rocker panel area but only if we purchase and install the running boards. We should not have to do that. I never heard of a car company witholding a legitimate warranty repair unless the customer purchases an expensive accessory that the customer doesn't even want. After spending almost 30K for this truck only a few weeks ago, I won't pay a single penny to fix Toyota's paint problem. If Toyota thinks running boards are necessary to protect the paint, then Toyota should put them on at its expense. I wonder what Toyota will do for the regular cabs that have this problem because Toyota doesn't make running boards for those trucks.

The one jon lozon posted are X-runners and the blue dc was the long bed. So far Ive seen the black, red, and speedway blue have these chipping problems. I dont have any of that with my 05 dc shortbed silver taco, w/roughly 1300 miles on it. IF anyone has a silver one having the paint problems I would be really interested if it happens in the same area as the trucks mentioned above.

Default hmmm

See....I have a feeling that the double cab short beds are not going to have the problem as bad because the location that the rocks, salt, etc is hitting on these pictures would the hitting the tires on the short beds
