Default Interior fit & trim questions

OK...I have been looking closely at all the different options and option packages available for the '05 Sequoia. After looking, I will probably be getting a 2WD Limited. I have a few questions about the fit & trim of the interior based on the pictures below. If you can help answer my questions, I would greatly appreciate it!

These pics came from a Sequoia LTD 4WD. For each of the numbered areas, my questions are as follows...

- What is the function of the buttons in the circled area?

- If the option related to that function is not installed, is the space left blank, or does it serve an alternate purpose?

Here is what I understand each area to be...

1. Buttons on the steering wheel that seem to serve no purpose. The buttons on the other side are clearly for the radio, but do these serve any purpose with any option?

2. This is the "Shift to L" button. I assume that this has something to do with the 4WD, but on a 2WD is this button, in a pretty prominent place on the console, simply left blank?

3. This button is located to the left of the 2WD/4WD buttons. It has an x between what appears to be two axles. What purpose does it have & if not used, will the space be filled with a blank insert?

4. I have no clue what this row of 4 switches do. Can anyone shed some light on these? I know that if not used, they will be left blank as I have seen 4 blank slots in other pictures.

5. I assume this is for the rear DVD entertainment system. If that is not iunstalled, is the console still cut away & those spots left blank?

6. I am an idiot who cannot count properly

7. I am 99% sure that this is for the power memory seats that come with the LUX package, I do not plan on getting that package. Will a blank insert be left in this place?

8. What is RSCA & is this a standard button? if not, will it be left blank?

I am pretty anal & with a $40,000 purchase, my anal retentiveness is kicked in high gear! Thanks for any help you can give me on these questions.

#1 are blanks. The limited i sat in only had the radio controls on the left, i believe the slots on the right are just to even out the steering wheel asthetically.

2#This button is the only way you can access first gear manually. By putting the gear shifter as far down as it will go, you are really only in 2nd gear. Once in second gear, push the "shift to L'" button and the tranny will drop into first.

#3 I believe in a 2WD model, this is the TRAC control off button for getting unstuck. If you were stuck in a 2WD model with trac on, all your truck would do is kill power to the engine every time your rear tires started to spin. The TRAC off button overides the system and lets you spin your tires.

#4 Can be a variety of switches. On my truck the rear height control switches are down there. I've also seen alarm status switches there.

#5 Rear audio controls for DVD system

#7 Power seat memory controls

#8 Turns off the Roll sensing feature of the side curtain airbags in case you want to do some serious off-roading....yeah right, like I'm going to ever seriously off-road a $42K vehicle.

No, they do not serve any function

Nothing to do with 4WD. It is used to shift into 1st gear (or low) when the transmissionis in the "2" position. That's its only function.

3. This button is located to the left of the 2WD/4WD buttons. It has an x between what appears to be two axles. What purpose does it have & if not used, will the space be filled with a blank insert?

It is used to lock the center diff on a 4WD. Don't know if left blank on non-4WD (probably)

4. I have no clue what this row of 4 switches do. Can anyone shed some light on these? I know that if not used, they will be left blank as I have seen 4 blank slots in other pictures.
1st one is to switch the rear air suspension to Manual
2nd is to adjust the rear air suspension up or down (in manual or auto)
3rd is rear accessory outlet (115V) switch
4th is blank

5. I assume this is for the rear DVD entertainment system. If that is not iunstalled, is the console still cut away & those spots left blank?
There is nothing there when not equiped with rear entertainment system. Just smooth.

6. I am an idiot who cannot count properly

7. I am 99% sure that this is for the power memory seats that come with the LUX package, I do not plan on getting that package. Will a blank insert be left in this place?
Don't know

8. What is RSCA & is this a standard button? if not, will it be left blank?

Rear Side Curtain airbags switch. Not standard option. Don't know if left blank.

Go bug your dealer. That's his job!

Just remembered that 4th button in the center console is for the Glass Breakage Sensor.

You assume that I have a dealer already! I don't have one because I hate dealerships. I went into my local dealer just to ask some questions and they refused to speak with me until I let them scan my driver's license & give them all my vital info & promise my first born child under the guise of entering me in a contest where I could instantly win a Sequoia. (Yeah right!)

That is why I ask my questions here. Consumers are typically more educated than the dealers and the people here do not run a credit check on me before answering questions.

I can't believe they wouldn't even help you! I thought my local dealer was bad!
I refuse to do business with them as well. Mostly because they are a**holes so I drove 200 miles away to a good dealer to get my Sequoia!

I know how you feel. You are in the right place! I found this site a couple of months before I made my purchase and it has been very, very helpful.

I did a lot of research as well on-line, which is how I originally contacted my eventual dealer.

Ask away and we'll help you make your decision! Even after all the research I did, there are a couple of minor things I would have done different.

Some models use the right side of the steering wheel for something. The LC and LX470 use this side on the bottom.
