Exclamation Wood Grain Dash Kits?

I ordered (and had them install) a wood grain dash kit from my dealership last week, and am truly bummed with how it looks. A display in the dealership showed a picture of the dash in a Camry with the installed kit, and it looked as though the wood grain units completely replaced the plastic parts in the dash. So I ordered it. When I picked it up, the kit that was installed had wood grain pieces adhered to the existing plastic dash components. It looks like they were glued right over the top and the plastic dash can still be seen underneath!!! Is a wood grained dash kit made for the Tundra that actually replaces the plastic dash parts??? I got JACKED!

All the wood grained dash kits I have seen (except the factory limited dash) are glue on.

The wood trim that I just installed in my wifes Expedition is a 3m stick on. I don't think that many people want to pay the money for aftermarket wood trim kits that would truley replace the factory OEM trim. I went with exoticwooddash.com and was very pleased with the results. Molded pieces will look different than a flat piece. The center dash housing and the door trim will be the molded pieces, but the rest should be flat pieces. The only bad part about it now is that if you wanted to take it off, you cant unless you break it. It will not come off if installed correctly. Good luck.

Glued on wood dash trim is just a step above brown paint and a brush!

Cool Re: Wood Grain Dash Kits?

I told the dealer that sold and installed the wood grain kit that I thought the 'trim' kit was a joke, and they are removing it and installing the dash from a LTD. They are ordering them separately as replacement parts as if someone who had a LTD needed a new one. Trick idea here. Now I'll have a stock TRD LTD dash!

Is anybody having any luck with molded woodgrain dash and trim kits for the 2007 Tundra. Exoticwooddash.com offers an option to send in your dash and trim pieces to them and they will apply an actual woodgrain to it. Don't know how much it costs but very cool! As far as I know, all woodgrain for the 2007 Tundra is an applique. Correct me if I am wrong.
