Default Pace Edwards roll top

Does anyone have this installed on a 01' or 02'. I would like to purchase one but not if the rail caps have to be removed. Any experiences?

I have a rollnlock bed cover on my 2002 tundra. They gave me 1/4 inch spacers to install under the bed rair cover. the cover rails installed over the bed rails. Instalation came out perfect.

My 2001 has the Pace Edwards top, not the roll-n-lock. It came with small plastic spacers to allow proper install over the plastic bed rail covers. It works fine as a do it yourself install. Do not buy the top made for year 2000 trucks, it has an older part number, and the canister containing the top will be too wide for your 2001 and up truck - due to the plastic bed rail covers you are leaving on.

I am looking hard at the Bed Locker from Pace Edwards. Kinda Pricey, but meets my needs, roll-up and powdercoat aluminum slats. Since I tow a fifth wheel once or twice a month the fiberglass caps are out. I am also concerned about how the vinyl on the Roll n Lock will hold up in AZ sunshine. Anybody with feedback??

If I could do it again I would get the Bedlocker. Remote control is ! I ended up getting the PE Trac Top and I am totally stoked on it.

Where did you get your trac top? Did you shop it on the net....if so, what was the best price you found?
Thanks

I got my PE Trac Top from a distributor in Hawaii. I just went to the site and looked for the nearest dealer. I think you can get the Trac Top for about $700 uninstalled.

I own an access roll-up cover and just love it. It only cost my $450 from http://www.realtruck.com and takes up less room and should last alot longer. here is the link to the factory website and and pic of a tundra with a cover on it. Good Luck http://www.accesscover.com
Good Luck

I'm also looking at the Pace Edwards Traqc Top. Does it look like it will hold up good against the Sun and Snow? How smoothly does it operate? Hows the fit and finish?

Thanks,
Jeff

JDunbar, the PE Trac Top holds up well against the elements in Hawaii but I don't know about the snow. The quality of the Trac Top is top notch as far as I'm concerned. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.

ausk9-0,
Thanks...what's it look like from the outside? Can you see the slats, or is it nice and smooth like a vinyl tonneau?
Jeff

Thumbs up Re: PE Trac Top

Jeff, the Trac Top is hardly noticeable from the side and the slats are virtually impossible to see through the covering. It looks like a tonneau that is really taught.
