I have 3500 miles on my truck and it seems like the driver's seat isn't holding up too well. Has anyone else noticed it creaking and squeaking when you move around in it? Also, whenever I hit a big bounce, it seems like I hit bottom in the seat, like the springs are already wearing out. I'm only 5'10", 160 lbs. Hardly anyone ever sits in my passenger seat, and it's perfectly quiet. If it's worn this much already, I'm wondering what the seat will be like at 10, 20, or even 30K.
Ive noticed my driver seat is hard to lock in place. I have to move it around before it will. If i forget to lock it in place before i drive when i hit a bump on the road the seats move and locks into place really hard and scares the crap out of me!!
But other then i havent noticed anything like noise or permature ware.
You should take it in to the dealer for that and they should fix it if they can find it.

You know what, my seat does that too! But all my toyotas have done that also, so maybe that's what it is. 94 celica, 89 corolla, now 2005 tacoma, all do the same thing. ACTUALLY, on the celica the passenger seat does it.

2003+ Toyota 4Runner's do this, it is the height adjustment on the seat I believe... Does the TRD Package offer a height adjustable seat? You know, with the lever or knob you ues to lower/raise the seat?
I have the same problem. The dealership claimed that it was the back rest frame, which according to them was unadjustable. They have rivets instead. They ordered a new backrest frame and had the seat re-upholstered but the new one did the same thing. I found the problem to be if you adjust the lumbar out all the way it will click. If you send the lumbar all the way back the clicking noise goes away. Hope this helps.
The TRD Sport Seats have no height adjustment. I tightened up the lumbar support dial, and that stopped the creaking on the back of the seat, but the creaking on the bottom part of the seat remains. I looked underneath and nothing seems to be broken. I guess it's just the way the springs sound after awhile.
I don't have any problems locking the seats in place forward or backwards. The seat rails seem to be fine. I've had that problem on previous cars and it's annoying when you come to a quick stop and your seat lurches forward.
You will need to do some trouble shooting. My 99 Taco driver seat made creaks and squeeks and it drove me nuts. I finally diagnosed the problem to be a slight misalignment between one of the threaded holes in the truck floor and the seat frame. I took a minimal amount of grease and put it on the bolt and inbetween the rubber washer that the frame sits on. Noise gone for good. But that was after two seat tracks and repeat visits. Finally got fed up and did it myself.
As for my new Taco. You have to be dilligent to get the seat to lock. Once it is locked. Mine is solid. No noises. But I have the TRD Off Road Package seats.
Mine was squeaking and creaking but I found the source for my problem. It ended up being where the seatbelt attached to the seat was. I move that around and sure enough it squeaks. Since thats the only real part that moves when I hit bumps the squeaking continues but when its calm it doesnt. I just put some grease on it and it seems to have stopped the squeaks so far.
I have the seats from the sr5 package. When the lumbar is fully out (most back support) it clicks when my weight shifts such as taking a corner. VERY ANNOYING!

Same here. I have all of the issue above. It kind of pisses me off that my seat makes cracking sounds. I am no spring chicken either. 230lbs I am happy to hear that a 160lbs person is having similar issues. I thought it was my weight. Thanks for making me feel better.
