This is a discussion thread titled "TACOMA:oval nerf bar", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Does anybody have the Westin oval nerf bar on their 05 tacoma? If yes, where did you buy them and how much? I think they would make the truck look real good. Pictures anyone?
Let me know what you think.

Good question, and I'm betting that no one has the oval's on their '05. I've been working with Summit Racing to get a pair of these for mine. So far, Westin hasn't released the support brackets yet, but you could get the ovals (just can't attach them to the truck). They've had the best price when I was researching.
I just followed up with them last week and they stated they are still not released yet, to call back in a couple weeks. I first contacted them back in Jan. and Summit called Westin for release dates, and was stated "end of Feb." ...so, I'm hoping any time now. I'll probably call back next Monday.

Thanks for the reply, would you let me know when you hear something new about them?

Trust me, both me and the csr at Summit are very familiar with the Westin website and sales reps, as the website list everything you need, including the beautiful instructions. But as I've found out, just because it's listed, doesn't mean it's available yet.
In doing my searches for them, I had several hits. When I emailed the vendors, they stated they were not available yet, but were nice enough to tell me the prices they would be selling for. I tried five different vendors, Summit was the only one that actually worked with me and has called the vendor while I was on the phone. It was the great customer service with them that I wanted to purchase the product (along with the great price )
Florida, I will pm you, and post on the board when I'm finally able to order.
I ordered a grill guard from Aries and it's very well built. It's just as nice as the Smittybuilt I had on my 95 Ram. They don't have a Bull Bar as of yet, but it's worth a look. http://ariesautomotive.com/prod.php?...d46b3e9157de83
For those of you interested..... I was waiting (and waiting) for the Westin oval step bars, but I could never find any info on the mounting hardware. So I see an auction on ebay for some that look similar - made by Aries Offroad. I said what they hey and went ahead and ordered them. They were like $225 with free shipping or something like that. Pretty reasonable, and if I didn't like them, I wouldn't have been out too much. So....
Let me say that I am very impressed with these. These were the stainless bars for the double cab. They look great, installed very easily, shipping was extremely quick. Also, the guys I bought them from were very nice and great communication throughout the sale. A+ for customer service (haha).
Just a head's up to anyone who is looking for an inexpensive and quick upgrade for their Tacoma.
