Default Step Bar Care

What is the best thing to use on the stainless step bars to remove scratches and rough spots? The rough spots are underneath caused from debris flying up. I would like to use something to smooth out the rough spots.

Also, after doing this procedure, what do you recommend to protect the step bars? Wax?

Thanks,
Rob

You will need a high speed buffer to get the shine back, but nothing will take out the pitting.

Waxing will help maintain the shine after buffing out.

Default Pledge

A buddy of mine swears by Pledge furniture polish. Claims it keeps them from "yellowing". Mine just came through their first winter still looking good with it, but they're still too new to verify his claim. His still look good after 4 years though.

Pledge? That's an old "hot rodders" idea, and one that's ridiculous as well.
