Interior & ExteriorDiscussions about the interior, and exterior of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Tacoma: Toyota issues cab bolt noise bulletin!", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
and there is no new TSBs for the Tacoma. The last TSB they have listed is for the parking brake recall (they list the recalls in the TSB section as well) and that was on Feb 7th. So until there is an official recall, they dealer isn't going to touch my truck. Thanks, but no thanks, I'd rather live with the rare noise than have some just out of high school kid cut out an antifreeze bottle to fix my truck.

Probably won't be a recall (campaign) on this issue, but Toyota may follow up with a TSB with either a field fix or production update parts. Refer to the Toyota TSB Database for complete up to date TSB's and Campaign Notices.

I was not referring to a recall. You can search for official TSBs (not just recalls) on NHTSA web site, and there is no TSB for the cab noise.
From what I gather in reading the posted pics, I think this is a different issue from what a lot of folks are having. There is:
1. A popping noise which is pretty loud, heard well from both "front" ends, more on the pass side. This is reduced when you put a big adult passenger in the front pass seat or when wet conditions prevail outside.
2. A creaking noise from the "rear" maybe from the leaf spring area which this publication is referring to.
Is this a reasonable understanding?
Which one - (1) or (2) are most of you having?
I for one have (1) and it is driving me nuts.

I don't have any noise in the front end but have heard a strange thump noise in the rear-right area but not all the time....mostly when my LEFT side goes down into a large pothole or something...and not all the time.
I'm not too concerned about it..when it gets warmer I'm going to put my Tacoma on a lift and get back there and check everything out.
Boo (Who will NEVER make a gasket out of an old plastic jug!

I'm not familiar with the creaking, but I sure am familiar with the popping. I guess I won't be saving my old plastic milk cartons.
Same here. I am not familiar with the creaking either. Popping...now that I can relate to.
I must admit this "fix" does seem a little strange....
