Interior & ExteriorDiscussions about the interior, and exterior of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Tacoma: Toyota issues cab bolt noise bulletin!", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Bulletin # 2068 addresses cab bolt noise by adding teflon washers!
Good luck to those with this problem.
"Bulletin #2068" is not a Toyota TSB number or Campaign number.

From what I undertand is it a service bulletin that goes out to Yota service technicians not necessarily out to the "general public".

There's a discussion of this on edmunds--someone got a copy of it from his dealer and has promised to scan it into his computer and post it. It's not a TSB. It's called a Tech Tip and it's title is "Interior Cab Noise When Driving Over Bumps During Cold Weather."
this has to be fake. I'll believe it when I get something in the mail myself. You can't make a Teflon Washer from a Plastic Jug. Perhaps it could be considered a Nylon washer, but not Teflon. i think somebody got tired of waiting and spent a little time with photoshop.
I'm not sure I want them to do this to my truck. I haven't heard the rattle in over 1000 miles, so maybe mine got fixed on its own. The reason I don't want them to do this is because I don't want to have my interior panels removed and then reinstalled--you know that once they touch those, they'll never be the same again, and then the panels themselves are going to creak and rattle. I'm wondering why they can't just access the mount from inside by removing the storage tray under the seats in the access cab?
I can't believe the fix is a home-made bottle jug washer. If that is the case they can stay the hell away from my truck altogether. Hopefull a joke based on a real solution.
If this is a fix, I'll wait for them to make a factory molded one.
I can see more issues with a home-made job anyhow. Just wait for that thing to work itself out down the road. Then you have "real" cab mount issues.
Mine has actually seemed to be almost gone for the most part now.
