Default Piping Size on 05 Taco?

Can someone please confirm what size the exhaust tubing is on the 05 Tacoma? I've heard 2.5" and 2.25". I'm getting my exhaust done next week and don't want to get charged for 2.5" catback if it already is 2.5".

you could always measure the size at the end of the stock exhaust tip. if it's 2 1/2, you know the actual pipe size is 2 1/4, since the tip is flared out.

Couldn't the Entering Diameter (input) be different that the Exiting Diameter (output)?

But you are right, measure the entering pipe to the muffler and then the exiting pipe (tail pipe).

wrap a string around pipe, measure that length of string and divide by 3.14

IMO its ussually best to replace the muffler and use the stock pipe

Haven't had a chance to try the string method, but I just went with a 2.5" flowmaster. I'll probably just have them cut the stock muffler out, mate up the new muffler and do 2.5" out from there to the tip. Can't wait actually.
