Looking for a good painting company in southern california. I am looking to have the various chrome pieces on my Tundra painted and matched with factory paint. Any help would be great!
Thanks,
Jordan

When I talked to the guy at carson toyota, when I was going to get the primered mirror caps, he told me they have an auto body shop to refer me to. They have all the toyota paint since thats where carson toyota takes their stuff to. But ofcoarse I dont remember the shop or the main guy at carson toyota. I know his name is all over this board though. I know that doesn't help much, but its a start.

Chad,
Thanks for your input. I talked with the guy from Carson Toyota also but I was kinda given the run around. I told him what I wanted and then he said "Oh so you want the entire bumper painted front and rear?" I told him no just the pieces, they he said what pieces as if he had never seen the front of a Tundra before. Finally, after about 8 emails he knew what I wanted and I asked him to get me a quote but he said only if I bought all new pieces from him first. So he is out of the question.
If you or anyone can think of another good paint shop around let me know.
Jordan

If I were you I would just find a decent shop and have it done. It does not need to be a high end shop because more then likely they will charge so much because it "Isn't worth their time unless you pay a lot". I do not think that you are going to have the color exact because in order to do that you would pay more then it is worth. Your truck is newer so your paint is close to new. The pieces you are having painted have lips and curves so the color changes throughout. So if you have it painted the same color it should be good enough (you do not need it "Match painted" where they re clear coat the whole area). To get it exact you would have to have the whole bumper painted to fade the new color(On the chrome Piece) onto the old color(Your Bumper). Since it has lips and edges the color being off will not be noticed because your eye will be fooled. I worked at a very High end body shop (BMW's to Lambo's) and my friend still paints for that shop. I would do the prep work myself and have it sprayed at any shop that would do it cheap. Any ?'s let me know. Just my thoughts
P.S. where are you located? RSM?
I'm doing the same thing as you but thru my old shop.

I am in RSM right across from the Target and Lowes over here. Yeah Im not looking for a Lambo shop just looking for someone who can and will use factory paint and will clear coat it so it doenst flake off easily.

hey jordan, i've been wanting to do the same thing as you since the day I got my truck. Deciding whether or not I should purchase the limited parts or just have the parts painted at a local body shop. I am bit afraid to have a local body shop paint it due to the fact that the paint may not match completely with the stock paint. But eventually i will have to get it done at a local body shop. I opted out to getting the limited grill at a toyota dealer which cost me $180. After that, I didn't really like the look of having just that chrome strip on the bumper, so i removed that leaving a bunch of visible holes. So I am looking for a body shop willing to paint that front bumper chrome strip and my rear chrome bumper painted to match. I was planning on purchasing the Limited front bumper but that would be just too expensive. The thought of having to purchase and paint a completely new bumper would leave a dent in my wallet. So once you do find a reasonable price to paint your chrome strip let me know, and i'll do the same. Thanks in advance!
