Question Roof Marker Lights

I've been thinking about installing roof marker lights. Has anyone done this & if so does anyone have pictures. I thought it would look cool, but some people think it's "stupid". Maybe I have to much time on my hands to think of these things

Haven't done it, but it's only stupid if you think it is. It's your truck do whatever the hell you want to with it.

Would make a good write up for the garage. This may not be such a stupid idea for those that tow big trailers.

Look into it if no one else has done so already.

What purpose do roof marker lights serve? Are they functional or just for looks?

Didn't mean to hijack your thread, but I always wondered what they were for.

Why not get something like a LUND moon visor...then you'll have the marker lights and can remove the whole thing later if you don't like it and no visible holes!! Just a thought.

They are called clearance lights. For vehicles over certain height/width.

I too have thought about what it would look like with clearance lights. Every time i see a hummer H2 on the road, i think "man it would be cool to lift my truck 6" and put some clearance lights on it." It shouldn't be hard to do. You'd just have to remove the headliner and find the parking lights trigger wire and put on some relays. Only thing i'd be concerned about is having to drill holes in the roof for the wires. But i think it would look cool.
