This is a discussion thread titled "Who makes a locking gas cap for the 05 Tacoma?", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Might be on their website now, but back in dec when I got it, it wasn't listed. But I was informed directly by stant that this is the part to get. I bought mine from pepboys for around $15
Heres a copy of the email I got
"Mark, the proper Stant locking fuel cap for your Tacoma is out boxed
10509 or carded 11509 cap. This is a new part in the Stant line and may
not yet be available in stores. You can buy one direct from Stant using
a MasteCard or Visa. Your cost is $21.91 each plus there is a $5.00 per
order shipping and handling charge. Contact Stant customer service at
800-822-3121 extension 330 to place your order."
I just picked one up the other day from checker. The guy was real helpful. The 05's weren't listed in their computer, so the guy checked out my current gas cap, and found one that worked. He said they're the same ones that the new ford dieslel's use. Hope this helps.
The one I got was made for toyotas..atleast it was in the section where all toyota aftermarket accesories were. If you get the engine light, just return it and find one that works. Ive been using mine for a few months and no problems whatsoever.
No, I tried to fit it on but couldnt do it. Might be possible if you try hard enough. But I usually put the cap on the wheel well inside the bed or ontop of the bed rails when I fuel up.

When I gas up, I carefully put that cord thing over the fuel door latch so it doesn't scratch my truck so it just hangs and doesn't touch anything.
