Thumbs down Is this what you expect from Toyota service?

So, as I posted here quite some time ago the air system in my 2004 Tundra really stinks badly - I bought it mid 2004. I finally had a chance to take it to the dealer I bought it from (some of us have to work days...) to get it taken care of.

As unluck would have it, the day I took it in the truck did not smell. So I took the time to explain to the person checking it in the type of smell etc... etc... Of course, this service person had the attitude of knowing better and kind of wiped me off a bit. Fine. I hoped the tech would know what to look for as I took the time to properly describe the symptoms. Good techs can diagnose with a good description, right?

To cut a long story short, the service person tells me that they checked the entire system out and there is no problem, come pick up the truck. Needless to say I was not happy...

This is my first warranty experience with Toyota. Basically they told me there is not a problem and goodbye.

What would you do? I do not have time to waste playing stupid games with dealers that do not care. I need this problem fixed. It is not a pleasure driving around in a truck that smells musty/moldy.

You probably have some mold (other critters) growing in the cabin air intake/delivery system - very common. Moisture condenses in there and supports the growth. Your dealer or a qualified shop can fog the air delivery system with some disinfectant/miracle chemical and PRESTO all clear!

Don't breath the chemical - let it do it's work in peace, then really ventilate the cabin B4 using the vehicle (chemical works equally well on you and your lungs!)

That is what I was told previously. And I would expect the Toyota service people to know this already and have at least mentioned it as a possible solution. But they did not.
