    Default What Bug Shield?

The 3 main names out there (to my knowledge) for bug shields are Ventshade, Wade and Lund. Lund is the more expensive and apparently the better one? Can anyone confirm? I'm really picky and want to get a nice bug shield for my Highlander.

What do you guys have? And oh yeah, I don't want to have to drill either.
    Mmmmmmm...... Highlander.

When I bought my 03 Tundra, it already had a Lund. I really like it but I have nothing to compair to. It does appear there were holes drilled to install it. With the way the Tundra is designed, I can't see a no drill application working very well.
Maybe your application is different with the Highlander....

I think you're forgetting the best fit of all for your Highlander or any other Toyota for that matter ... Toyota. I bought the Toyota bug shield for my DC from a Toyota parts department and it is a no drill and fits perfectly. I had it on in about 15 minutes. It is more expensive than the others for sure, but it fits right, no holes, looks good, and it says Toyota on the front left of the shield. You can see mine in my gallery.

I can only imagine what the dealer would want for it.

I'll call them later and see. Hopefully it's not too outrageous, but probably will be.

I just got off the phone with Don McGill Toyota/Scion of Katy (here in Houston, TX). Price for a bug shield for your '01 is $97.63 USD. Not sure how much the difference in cost is over the border.

I have the Wade on my truck and love it. Install was a snap, looks great, and found a store on Ebay that wasn't too expensive.

    Here's Toyota's...

    Here's EGR from Quality Bumper...

Alright, just got off the phone with Guelph Toyota (Ontario, Canada) and I got one on order. Get this, it's $85 CDN (approx. $68 USD)!! Wow. Can you believe that? It'll be in tomorrow morning too. It might be worth while for Some of you Americans to call this one and order one if you're in the market for it!

    Default Lund

I just purchased a low profile Lund bug shield for my tundra. I paid 68 for it and I love it, it isn't very bulky but looks sweet. It had an option for drill or no drill installation, I chose no drill.

Anyone have the Toyota bug shield part #? I picked mine up from the dealer today and IT DOESN'T FIT. And then upon closer inspection of the tags on the package, it says it's for a '98-03 Sienna. Damn it. Why can't people do their jobs right and get me what I ordered. And the best part, Friday's a holiday so I gotta wait 'til Saturday to go and b*t*h, then probably have to wait until Monday until they can re-order and then it won't be in 'til Tuesday now. So the price is probably gonna change now from $85 CDN (for a Sienna) to probably a nice million dollars for the Highlander. Just great.

I'm sorry to hear that, Thai. I should have asked my parts guy to give me the p/n when I called him up about this the other day. See my above post on the price (USD)

I had two of the toyota bug shields crack on my Sequoia (luckily both within the 1-year warranty period). For the 3rd, I ordered a Form Fit deflector from Carson Toyota (www.carsontoyota.com) one of the sponsors of this forum. I've had it on over a year now and it still looks like new and is a lower profile than many on the mkt (better looking imo, but more difficult to clean under). I think it was about $80 including shipping.

I don't have a picture of mine, but this is what it looks like (I "borrowed" it from Possum's gallery):

Finally got it installed last night! Very simple installation. No drilling required and looks great. I've noticed in the knowledgebase that it says to remove and discard the rubber seal under the hood. Not so. You only need to remove the 4 tabs and slide in the protector in between them and use new expanding ones.

Anyways, yeah, it might be worthwhile to order from this particular dealership if you're overcharged at your local one (just make sure to confirm the proper item with them first).

Now I'm still waiting on my vent visor to come in from an order off of eBay. 2 weeks now and nothing! Hopefully today.

    Cheers.

I've purchased the Wade for my 05 DC.... I haven't installed it yet. Did you drill or just use the adhesive? Thanks in advance for any installation tips.
