Default Boss's new Tundra.

My boss just got a new '05 Tundra. He had it at work this afternoon and I got to look it over. His interior is a very light gray...almost an off white. I wish that had been available when I got my '04. I like that better than the oak and brown that mine has. I wonder about that all plastic intake manifold. I hope Toyota has better luck with it than some others have. I don't like it having the air injection on the exhaust manifolds either. I think I will wait and see what the next gen Tundra is like or I may just keep my '04 for a long time. I had a '76 Chevy until 1998 and the engine was still good but not much else was.
For anybody here with an '05...are the new headlamps any better? Mine were
terrible on high beam with the stock bulbs. I changed to the Silverstars after about 6 months or so and they helped a lot. Also when did Tundra first offer a 60/40 bench seat? I got the captains chairs as I can't stand a straight bench.
I like the console but the 60/40 set up does give a bit more room and I don't
really need the console anyway. His '05 came with Bridestone tires and I am sure they are better than the stupid Goodrich tire mine had. I just replaced my Goodrich tire at 23,000 miles and I am not happy about that either and they were some of the worst tires I have ever had.

Not sure when they came out with the 60/40 bench but my '03 has it (but was a pain to find) and I looked at some '02's that also had them.

60/40 bench was an option since the truck was made in 2000. They were harder to find though.

It was a lot easier for me to find a 60/40 bench than it was to find captains chairs... Unless I went with a limited 2X4.... Finding a SR5 4X4 with captain chairs was impossible!! I didn't want leather with made it even harder.... The 60/40 does have a lot more room tho... kinda glad I got stuck with a 60/40!!

I ordered my '03 Tundra because I had too many problems with previous truck.
This decision was spur of the moment and by early September there were no 2002's left that were close to what I wanted. There was only one on my dealers lot and that was already sold. It had the straight bench seat. Another dealer had only two V8 models and they were base models. I never saw the 40/60 bench and don't remeber it being in the catalogue or on the website. So I never knew about the 40/60 bench 'til my boss go his Tundra.
I ordered the captains chairs but I would probably have gone with the 40/60's had I know about them. I don't know why the salesman didn't mention them if they were available.

Default 60/40 bench seat

I got my Tundra in November of 99 with the 60/40 bench with cloth in a limited 4x4. Still have it Only wish the drivers side was power.

bench is an option now on the 05 d/c

but all tundra have bench on the a/c cab mine does I ordered this way but i hate the caption layout and I like my storage in the center part of the seat which is more upright vs the crapey caption seat layout plus i have an extra seat when I need it can't go wrong there ..
