Default westin nerf bar install problem

I bought myself these and I ran into a problem. On my rear passenger side, the large washer that is supposed to be used to bolt on the bracket cannot be placed there (no room), nor can the suggested bolt be used because it is too short. Help?

I just finished getting my Westin nerf bars put on my 05 access cab 30 minutes ago. Did not encounter any problems. What model truck do you have. The instructions were for all models and the d-cab looked a bit more involved.

I had a little trouble with my Platinum series bars on my doublecab. But they never tapped the thread on the passenger tube. Call the 1800 # they are really helpful and will fix the problem. By the way how much did yours cost?

have the dc short bed. I was having no problems myself, it's just that the other three brackets had the longer bolt with the brass looking extension to mount it. I don't know why a 4th isn't used. Followed instructions to the letter. I'll probably get a longer bolt.

you need to use the brass bars for the front only. the bolts go on the rear. you have to squeeze your hand (hope it's small) between the gas tank and the frame and insert the bolt and washer into that hole. Look on the passenger side to see what you are dealing with. I couldn't figure it out at first either and called them. We figured it out together. I also have the Dcab short bed.

Those were the worst install directions I have ever seen and I've lifted and lowered many cars/trucks and also installed their bull bar with no problems.
