Interior & ExteriorDiscussions about the interior, and exterior of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Aerospace 303 on Alloy Wheels", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I recently purchased some Aerospace 303 as suggested by the people on this site. I was reading its uses and it says you can spray it on alloy wheels. Has anyone tried this? I wanted to get some feedback before using it as to whether it protects the stock Toyota Aluminum Alloy Wheels.
I would probably skip using 303 on alloy wheels. If for no other reason, there's a lot cheaper alternatives out there. I'd probably suggest cleaning them up with a polish, like Klasse AIO, the putting a polymer sealant on them. Wax won't fare to well on wheels due to the heat -a sealant will give much more reasonable "durability."

How about Mother's Aluminum Mag Wheel Polish. Any good?
Ya... careful with polishes. Our rims do have a clearcoat, and a metal polish will abrade it.
The grey 5-spoke rims are painted with a clear and should be treated no differently than the fenders.

I was thinking more along the lines of a good chemical polish, like AIO. Something along htose lines. I wouldn't waste my time with the Wax as U Dry on the whels. It wouldn't last very long. Maybe a day or two. If you're going to "protect" them with something, use a polymer sealant. There's some out there specifically for use on wheels.

Would NuFinish work on the wheels? I believe it is a polymer sealant.
