Interior & ExteriorDiscussions about the interior, and exterior of your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "extras for my new stepside", within the Interior & Exterior forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
After agonizing for several month between the Titan and the Tundra, I bought a new stepide, SR5, 4wd, largely because of reliability issues with the Titan. I Traded a 96 T-100 with 115K that was bulletproof. I plan on installing a spray-in bedliner, bug shield, chrome bed rails and running boards. The boards on my T-100 had a ruberized flared extension that fit into the wheel well. They were extremely effective in that they kept the snow and road crap away from the truck body. I haven't had any luck finding a similar board locally. Anyone know of an on-line source? Also, any and all reccomendations concerning a bedliner, bedrails, and hood shield would be appreciated. Incidentally, my purchase decision was really influenced by what what I read here, compared to the Titan forums. Any and all input would be appreciated. Stoney
I've found the Toyota running boards to be very effective in keeping the mud down. Have a look. It's nice that they're color coded and molded to fit the body as well..

I'd go with a Line-X if it's available in your area. I've got one, and have compared it to other spray-ins in friends' trucks. Can't beat it, looks great!

Hey Stony,
Check out my gallery and my posts. They describe a lot of what I bought.
I picked the Bedrug over the LineX because I don't haul much stuff and wanted the bed more useable for camping , tailgating, etc.
But if you have your heart set on a spray-in, LineX is the best there is.
No Rhinos, no cheapees, no do it yourself kits. They stand behind it.
I have an AVS deflector but it has some weird notches it that I had to cover with tape. No one probably noticed it but me. I'd get a different one. The dealer wants over a $100 for theirs.
I love my Retrax.
I had bed rails on my 94 Chevy, they came on the truck. I'm not really sure what they are for.
This site really rocks. It has helped me tremendously with mods and info.
Using this site also helped me with my decision to buy a Tundra, but I was already a fan of Toyota.
Good luck with your Tundra, I'm sure she is SWEET...........
