yeah i know u hate the plastic bumper ...the bugshield that peid uses will look great on with that grill if u wish i will get a pic of the T3 for u to show u its basically identical to the trucks i linked u to....

Ok guys here we go I nstalled an AVS Auto VentShield bug shield last weekend took a total of less than 90 minutes. I'll scan in the directions and model number when I get back to the house. these steps are from memory
1- remove the hood latch release and hood latch (10mm socket)
2- remove center grill from hood (6 bolts total) you may need penetrating oil. and set grill aside.
3- clean area (center grill hood lip) with mild soap and water dry and prep area with alcohol wipes.
4- prep center area of bug shield with alcohol wipes and afix double sided 3m tape.
5. center bugshield on hood and afix to the hoods lip where the grill mounts with tape.
6- replace center grill, and attach ends of bugshield to the under side of hood with included self taping screw and rubber groment.
the bug shield is very secure and it has a 1+" clearance for the hood.
I'll post photos and instructions soon
I have the same one, $55 from PepBoys if I remember correctly. Goes on really easy w/out screws but I put a couple on the ends under the hood just in case. If you get stains, discoloration, or light scratches on bug shields, use some "cleaner wax" such as 3M Pro Formula, it takes it right off and leaves a really nice shine.
if it was properly installed there are small strips of what looks like 3M tape between the "crimps" and the hood....the paint should not be damaged at all....an aside...i have a toyota bugshield which i really like...it stated very clearly on mine(mine had a big yellow sticker on it) that it should never be used in a carwash....
Kevin
I removed the Bugshield yesterday. That "3M" tape was a bear to remove. I had it heat it up with a hair drier to remove the tape, but most of the adhesive stayed on the paint. Lots of mineral spirits and elbow grease to remove the adhesive.
All a man really needs for happiness in this world is a good woman, a faithful dog, and a big-assed set of tires on his truck.

Cyberbill,
I had good luck using googone to remove the glue from my old rear spoiler on my runner, also try 3m adhesive remover (spray can) it also works well.

Does anyone here have a bug deflector/hood shield installed on their Sequoia? I used to have a Ford Expedition with a really nice one that did not require any drilling and sat high off the hood so I could clean underneath it easily. This is what I am looking for with my Sequoia. Any recommendations?
I went to the Toyota parts center at my local dealership and they stated their deflector required drilling. This is not an option for me.
heat,
I just took off a broken bug deflector. I liked the way it looked on my 200 Tundra. And it didn't need any hole penetrations. Only two clips and tucking it into above the grate did the trick. I want to find one just like it. It was made in Australia, I think.
If any body knows how to find the bug deflector I described please email me.
